Anyway -- Vanessa, would you say revenge plays much of a part in Patriot Games? I'm charging though A Soldier's Revenge and revenge is the main theme. The bad guy has set up an elaborate web to ensure the hero is the most wanted murderer in the US and it's to exact revenge for an as yet unspecified crime against him when the hero was a special ops hitman type. Now everyone is after him.

From the list we've got and the blurb it sounds as though the terrorists are after Jack in revenge for stuffing up their plot.

I'm a little iffy with the revenge connect - could be construed as being a little too vague? Look at more obvious connects, GoodReads says this is a first in a series (same as Patriot Games), is it true? If so, we can use that. What do you think?

Well, it is volume 1 so there is supposed to be a volume 2 someday, considering this it should work but so far it's still a standalone book. We could of course also use the same connection as for Inheritance which is, main character is a male orphan.

Yeah actually revenge is an important part... first Jack foils the plan of the terrorists.. So they come to America to take revenge on Jack by attacking his family.

Then Jack with the help of the CIA and all other intelligence authorities, starts his mission to take revenge against them.

Sorry for the late update... Final few observations..
~ Jack's wife delivers a baby boy
~ In order to help his daughter Sally recover from her accident, they get her a puppy, black Labrador, name him Ernie
~ The royals (prince and princess) come to America to visit Jack and his family and they are attacked there again
~Jack's closest friend is Robby Jackson, who is a fighter pilot

I wasn't planning on using this for the mini challenge, but in Things You Save in a Fire, the main character is under attack by someone whom she suspects and she is trying to defend her loved ones. The attacker was exacting his revenge because her mere presence messed everything up for him.

I am so glad that you got Daisy Jones & The Six! It truly as an ensemble experience to savor in audio. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Taylor Jenkins Reid is a wonderful author, and I still think The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is one of the finest books to have been released in the last few years.

How are all our US team mates faring in the horrendous snowstorms sweeping up the east coast? Texas was on the news last night and it looked terrible. People with no power for three days, sitting in cars to keep warm, queuing for food and water supplies. Just awful.

Also, if not sure if you know this but double check your 'date read' for every book because goodreads doesn't realise that we're in Australia and we're ahead of date and time. So for your book 'the american agent', you have it as the 20th on our sheet and in your post, but it's entered as the 19th on the 'date read' for the book on your shelf. I believe you entered in 20th but I know it was changed to 19th. It's superrr annoying especially for challenges. I always double or triple check when I enter the dates especially on the app

I still can't see the start date for A Soldier's Revenge and I still see the date read for The American Agent being Feb 19th

The dates certainly are pesky but adding it in at night is a good idea. Sometimes even the next day works but it's not convenient at all

I'm so sorry for being confusing. I finished The American Agent and Ice (read that the same day) yesterday our time so that was Feb 19th in the US, correct? I'd incorrectly put our date.

I also realised I didn't have a 'start date' column on my page , just a 'date added' which to me was the same thing. I think it's correct now.

I updated posts 426 through 429. I also have other books to post but I'll have to do them tomorrow or after. I have had issues with my computer this week and I need to get to bed soon. Then tomorrow I get my 2nd vaccination for Covid, so hopefully I won't have any side effects that'll make me not feel like getting online.

I actually sort of figured out your books for the mini, Vicki. We are all good.

Also, the month runs till the end of the month.
Mini challenges normally come in the middle of the month and run parallel with the actual challenge.

Also, all relevant information will always be updated in my first few posts at the very beginning of our group, incase you want to look anything up.
