Morgan | 342 comments I remembered The Door Within Trilogy by Wayne Thomas Batson and Dragons of Starlight and Echoes From the Edge by Bryan Davis too.

message 152: by gabi (new)

gabi | 358 comments Oh, I've read pretty much ALL of Bryan Davis's books. They're great. Thanks for the suggestions!

message 153: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 342 comments You're welcome! I need to read more Bryan Davis books, but I haven't gotten to it yet.

The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance aren't Christian fiction and have some mild language, but I absolutely LOVED them. And they are MASSIVE. Don't know if you like long books, but I do. :D

Amanda Beguerie (amandabeguerie) | 467 comments Woah guys. I need to get reading. And I thought I had a lot of books on my TBR bookshelf in my bedroom...

(I'm a really picky reader and the only genre I enjoy is Fantasy so...)

Everyone's been saying a lot, so I'll just tell you the three best. (In my opinion. ;))

Anne Elisabeth Stengl's Goldstone Wood books. They are the most AMAZING fantasy books EVER. They are the most beautiful, epic, hilarious, inspiring books EVER. You can't beat them. https://www.goodreads.com/series/6462...

The Land of Elyon books by Patrick Carman. The last book is my favorite book of ALL time. They're the best Christian allegory I've ever read and the heroine is the only girl in fiction I LOVE. https://www.goodreads.com/series/5618...

And The Blood of Kings Trilogy by Jill Williamson. They're epic, and a tone of fun and I've read the whole Trilogy five times, going on six. :D https://www.goodreads.com/series/5586...

If you enjoy epic battles I'd also point you toward Stephen R. Lawhead's Dragon King Trilogy. https://www.goodreads.com/series/5347...

And if you love romance to death go with Serena Chase's The Ryn. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

message 159: by Claire (new)

Claire Banschbach I love Lawhead and I can't believe I didn't know about his Dragon King trilogy! Is it weird if I recommend my own series? (https://www.goodreads.com/series/1470...)

Guys!! Tomorrow is May 1 which means the celebration begins!!!! :D

message 160: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Beguerie (amandabeguerie) | 467 comments It's not weird Claire :))

Woohoo!!!

message 161: by Kendra (new)

Kendra Ardnek | 541 comments Yay, tomorrow! *throws confetti*

Ooh, I forgot to put The Rise of Aredor on my list Claire - sorry about that. Morgan had already mentioned my books, which is the main reason I didn't bring them up, so you're in good form.

message 162: by gabi (new)

gabi | 358 comments Well, thanks everyone!! I need to write this down.....

message 163: by gabi (new)

gabi | 358 comments By the way, Ms. Jaye, I absolutely LOVE thick, thick books. They're the best! As a book recommendation to ya'll, try The Princess and the Wizard by Brinley Canuteson. It's a short, easy, and quite fun read. You can get it on Amazon. The author is a good friend of mine and she's only like 13 so I'm pretty amazed and quite proud of her.

message 164: by Katie (new)

Katie Grace (katiegracewrite) | 73 comments I agree with all the books Morgan said. And there's The Door Within Trilogy by Wayne Thomas Batson (and all of his other books), Dragons in our Midst by Bryan Davis, and The Tales of Goldstone Woods by Anne Elisabeth Stengl.

message 165: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (wordfitlyspoken) | 158 comments The Blood of Kings trilogy by Jill Williamson. Currently holding the title of my favorite fantasy series ever, and it reminds me of Ilyon Chronicles in some ways. (I have to say, it's probably about to become co-favorites with Ilyon...)

message 166: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Beguerie (amandabeguerie) | 467 comments Gabs gave me the first two Dragons in Our Midst books for my birthday :D

message 167: by gabi (new)

gabi | 358 comments Ms. Katie there's two other series that connect to Dragons in our Midst. Have you read them? I'm reading that last one of all three series right now. It is good and sad...

I just finished the last book of the second series. I need to ILL the first of the third series ... but I have a few other books that are higher on my priority list.

message 169: by Tamara (new)

Tamara Georges (tamarasinnamon) Amanda, I really love The Blood of Kings trilogy too!!! You should join the group The Blood of Kings Fan Group. Just a suggestion. ;)

message 171: by Tamara (new)

You didn't know about the Dragon King books? They're the best things ever!! They just spell E.P.I.C. You must read them okay?

LET ME JUST TOTALLY FREAK OUT. THERE'S A BLOOD OF KINGS GOODREADS GROUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M LIKE THE BIGGEST FAN OF THOSE BOOKS EVER.

It's Resistance party day! Awesomeness! *gives out cake, pizza and life-sized Tyra plushies*

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments Jaye wrote: "Ooh, Tyra plushy!! :D"

:D It sort of just happened... I want one for real to sleep with! XD (I bet Jace doesn't like this idea of his wolf being a plushy for his fangirls. XD)

message 175: by Kendra (new)

Kendra Ardnek | 541 comments *Huggles Tyra plushie* It's so soft.

And yay! Party. Lots of fun.

message 176: by Tamara (new)

Tamara Georges (tamarasinnamon) Amanda, you should come join the fan group!! I'm so glad you're all joining, you guys made my day!!!! :D

message 177: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (wordfitlyspoken) | 158 comments Tyra plushies! Yay!!!

So. Guys. I finished The King's Scrolls. You should be amazed that I'm so calm right now.

...HAHAHA IT'S A JOKE I AM NOT CALM. WHAT IS THIS CRUELTY.

message 178: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 342 comments Kendra wrote: "*Huggles Tyra plushie* It's so soft."

Now I'm wondering if there's anything that can be adapted into a wolf in our book of stuffed animal sewing patterns...

message 179: by Stargazer (new)

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments It appears my Tyra plushies are a hit. :P

@Morgan: MAKE US TYRA PLUSHIES. Just kidding. But I'd totally buy one. ;)

Jaye Knight (jayelknight) | 389 comments Mod
Now I seriously want a black wolf plushy. *runs off to scour Google*

message 181: by Katie (new)

Katie Grace (katiegracewrite) | 73 comments I looked at Amazon, but I could only find Webkinz. :p

message 182: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Beguerie (amandabeguerie) | 467 comments Same, Katie. :P

message 183: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 342 comments Methinks I could adapt the dog into a wolf. I don't know when I'd have time to try, since there's a lot of life stuff going on now, but it's a thing to try. :) There's a horse in the pattern book too.

message 184: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Beguerie (amandabeguerie) | 467 comments You sound extremely talented, Morgan. :)

message 185: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 342 comments Thanks! I make a lot of my own clothes, so I do do a lot of sewing. It's been awhile since I've done a stuffed animal, though. My sister and I made some for our little cousins a couple Christmases ago.

message 186: by gabi (new)

gabi | 358 comments Cool. I've done some knitting, but not anything like that.

message 187: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Beguerie (amandabeguerie) | 467 comments Wow! That is so awesome!

message 188: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (wordfitlyspoken) | 158 comments I've sewn dresses, skirts, and some other things like bags and doll clothes and such, but never any stuffed animals. Closest to that would be the stuffed blocks I made my baby brother.

message 189: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 342 comments Stuffed animals are difficult, but I have done it before. It wasn't really my thing, but I'm sure making Tyra would be. :)

message 190: by Jaye (new)

Jaye Knight (jayelknight) | 389 comments Mod
Speaking of stuffed animals, I REALLY want to get this pattern so I can make plushy baby dragons. ^_^ https://www.etsy.com/listing/15745263...

I've done quite a bit of sewing because I love to make costumes and outfits for colonial reenactment.

message 191: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 342 comments That's so cute. You need to get it.

message 192: by Katie (new)

Katie Grace (katiegracewrite) | 73 comments Oohhh. That is awesome, Jaye! And then you should sell them on your Etsy shop. xD I'd love a plush dragon. :p

message 193: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (wordfitlyspoken) | 158 comments Did someone say colonial reenactment?! The most complicated thing I've ever sewn was my colonial dress. That was last year. :) My family goes to Williamsburg, VA with a bunch of other big families every year and I absolutely adore it. (We get to do colonial dancing...that's my favorite part!) I've yet to try walking around Colonial Williamsburg in my "get up," but I want to sometime ;)

Also, those dragons are adorable. Make them, make them!

Yes! :)

message 200: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Beguerie (amandabeguerie) | 467 comments Okay, good. There was something wrong with my email last night and this morning, so I just wanted to make sure. So...can "textual art" (aka writing of sorts) be considered fan art? Like...poetry? Or does that not count?
