Janice Verhoog (janiceamoh) | 31 comments Chasing the Lion by Nancy Kimball, Unseen Love also by Nancy Kimball, A Stray Drop of Blood by Roseanna M. White, The Last Disciple Series, which has three books: The Last Disciple, The Last Sacrifice, and The Last Temple by Sigmund Brouwer and Hank Hanegraaf. Pearl Maiden by H. Rider Haggard, For the Temple by G. A. Henty.

The last three suggestions are on Rome during/after the fall of Jerusalem, ASDoB is during Jesus’ ministry and is set in both Rome and Jerusalem, and the Kimball ones are both several years after the fall of Jerusalem.

I was thinking the same thing.

Twice Freed by Patricia St. John takes place in Rome and Greece.

Not traditionally published, but did you ever read Chasing the Lion by Nancy Kimball? Sssooooo good.

message 2005: by Janice (new)

Janice Verhoog (janiceamoh) | 31 comments @Jaye yesss, I love that one! Have you read Unseen Love, also by her?

message 2006: by Addyson (new)

Addyson Huneke | 80 comments Kind of random question, but I’m writing a dystopian set in America in the undetermined future and I need help naming a slave labor camp that is somewhere in the New England area. Anyone got any ideas?

message 2007: by Stargazer (new)

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments Does everyone on here get Jaye's newsletter?

message 2008: by Addyson (new)

Addyson Huneke | 80 comments I do. Why?

message 2009: by Stargazer (new)

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments Just making sure everyone got it so we can all be praying for her prayer request. I get it, but I'm in some groups that I'm not signed up for the author's newsletter, so I was double checking everyone on here got it.

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments Hey guys! Do you remember the polls? https://www.goodreads.com/poll/list/1...

message 2015: by Faith Anderson (new)

Faith Anderson | 101 comments Thanks Rebekah!
The polls are great! I voted a few weeks ago.

message 2016: by Ashlyn (new)

Ashlyn Jarrus | 34 comments I’m just curious and new to this group but what polls?

message 2017: by Ashlyn (new)

Ashlyn Jarrus | 34 comments Haha never mind! Just saw the link and voted

message 2018: by Faith Anderson (new)

Faith Anderson | 101 comments Nice! And welcome to the group, Rylee!

message 2019: by Stargazer (new)

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments Yay! I'm wondering if we could have more polls. . .

message 2020: by Faith Anderson (new)

Faith Anderson | 101 comments YAS! We need more polls! But I don't know how to make more. :-\

message 2021: by Stargazer (last edited Aug 28, 2020 10:17AM) (new)

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments I figured it out but I don't know if Jaye would mind me doing it or not... I think she's invited us to do more of our own stuff on here, but I feel weird about it. :P The poll I have an idea for is what we're all looking forward to most about DH, and I don't know if that would inspire her or discourage her and I def don't want to discourage her. Also it might have spoilers for previous books.

message 2022: by Faith Anderson (new)

Faith Anderson | 101 comments I just created a poll! Oh. Now I just saw your message, Rebekah... Do you think she would mind?

message 2023: by Stargazer (new)

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments I don't think she'd mind, I just always feel like asking and going above the call of duty to obey rules, but that's a me thing. I know that she has control of the group settings and I'm pretty sure she could have made it so no one could create a poll, but obviously we can. I love the poll! Great idea!

message 2024: by Faith Anderson (new)

Faith Anderson | 101 comments Ok :) Thanks!

message 2025: by Kendra (new)

Kendra Ardnek | 541 comments There are fan-created polls on there, so I'm pretty sure she doesn't mind.

message 2026: by Faith Anderson (new)

Faith Anderson | 101 comments Ok, that's good to know!

message 2027: by Stargazer (new)

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments Oh! Okay, I didn't remember that. There was one about which book is your favorite but it timed out so I just did a new one. And tried out the invite button.... Hopefully those 26 people won't mind. XD I'm pretty sure they're all in the group. XD

message 2028: by Addyson (new)

Addyson Huneke | 80 comments So I found a Hunger Games simulator a while back, and today, just for the lols, I decided to throw some of our favorite Ilyon characters in it. So far, Timothy’s killed both Richard and Emperor Dacian, Jace sprained his ankle running away from Queen Solora then died in an explosion from Anne, and Falcor and King Balen held hands.

message 2029: by Ashlyn (new)

Ashlyn Jarrus | 34 comments If Jace was in a hunger games arena, he and Karin would make it out alive. They would’ve waited til the last person and done the Peeta and katniss nightlock berry thing. I was just thinking about this last night and scheming in my head. Lol simulators are funny

message 2030: by Ashlyn (new)

Ashlyn Jarrus | 34 comments Yours would be hilarious if Anne blew up Jace. I can’t see her doing that on anyone but golor.

message 2031: by Ashlyn (new)

Ashlyn Jarrus | 34 comments And uh falcon and king Balen! 😂😂

message 2032: by Addyson (new)

Addyson Huneke | 80 comments It was meant to be! 😂

Dacian also tried to kill Collin, then held hands with him. Also, Dacian, Daniel, and Trask cheerfully sang songs around a fire together.

message 2033: by Kendra (new)

Kendra Ardnek | 541 comments What even. *dies*

Jordan (jojobooklover) | 49 comments Wow *mic drop* 😄

message 2035: by Ashlyn (new)

Ashlyn Jarrus | 34 comments I think that Davira would be behind all this

message 2036: by Faith Anderson (new)

Faith Anderson | 101 comments This is great!!! 😂😂 Those three "cheerfully singing around a fire" together... I dont think so😂

message 2037: by Stargazer (new)

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments *Comes back after a week of no internet*
*This is the first thing I see*
Me: Whaaaaaaa happened ? ? ?
XD XD XD
Timothy is so out of character and poor poor Jace.

message 2038: by Faith Anderson (new)

Faith Anderson | 101 comments Pretty random, but do you guys remember in Resistance when it's only Kyrin's second time hunting with Jace and he teaches her how to walk quietly? Well now I ALWAYS walk how he told her to walk whenever I'm trying to walk quietly. And it really does make you quieter! Now I walk that way all the time. Does anyone else do this or am I the only one?? XD

Jordan (jojobooklover) | 49 comments 😆 I tried it, and I didn’t notice a difference in thick soles shoes. You have to remember that they are wearing leather boots. Real medieval leather boots are thin soled. Thin soles make your foot falls quieter. At least, that’s what I figured out.

message 2040: by Ashlyn (new)

Ashlyn Jarrus | 34 comments I do but I have thick sole shoes and it can work even with thick soles if you walk slower and more carefully.

message 2041: by Faith Anderson (new)

Faith Anderson | 101 comments Haha! Well I've actually only done it barefoot (I'm always barefoot when I'm home) But seriously I was just doing it this morning AND last night!(Yes, I like sneaking around my house as quiet as possible) I've also done it in sandals and it worked quite well. I just know that if I'm walking like that while barefoot I can almost be completely silent. And it's great for someone who loves trying to be an elf. ;-)

message 2042: by Faith Anderson (new)

Faith Anderson | 101 comments @Jordan: Yes, their medieval boots are thinner and softer, and that would definitely make a difference. I want to buy a pair of them soooo bad!

message 2043: by Stargazer (new)

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments That is so cool you all do that. XD

Wow, 2020 pretty much knocked me flat on my face. I can’t believe how long it’s been since I checked in here. BUT I am still alive. :P and reading some of the comments I’ve missed got me hyped to write. :D

message 2050: by A.L. (new)

A.L. Buehrer Merry Christmas to all! I think it's been an oddly quiet year for a lot of writers. I didn't read or write as much as I would have liked this year. Here's to a better 2021!
