Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments Hey y'all! How's things going? :)

There's two wildfires near me, and really near people that I know. Texas could really use some prayer. The wind is really bad and one of the fires is not contained at all. It's been a super dry winter. Please pray the wind will stop, and for the family's in the path of the fires, and for the firefighters. <3

Addyson Huneke | 80 comments I’ll definitely be praying!

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments Thank you! <3 The fire near my friends is mostly contained but not completely, but I don't know yet if anyone I know lost property. (I know they evacuated.) The one nearer to me is almost half contained and the winds are pushing it away from me and away from civilization for now, but if the wind switches directions it won't be good, and the forecast for this evening and tomorrow is very high winds. Very thankful to God that we don't have an evacuation notice right now. <3

Anyone read anything half as fun as Ilyon Chronicles recently? ;)

Hahah
I recently reread Blades of Acktar! It was pretty good!!

message 2055: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 342 comments Blades of Acktar is pretty awesome, I agree. Y’all should read Elven Alliance. It’s amazing.

message 2056: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Edwards (jordan_edwards) | 2 comments Funny how the two previous comments mentioned the “Blades of Acktar” books, as I just finished the first book in that series last week and currently on book two. I’m really enjoying it so far.

I also highly recommend the “He Who Finds Mercy” series and its sequel series by Katy Huth Jones.

“Stealing Liberty” and its sequel by Jennifer Froelich is fantastic as well!

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments I've still never gotten around to Acktar or Elven Alliance... :P

I once saw "He Who Finds Mercy" at a Half Price Books and. . . didn't get it. I have regretted that decision several times. XD

Hmm, I've never heard of "Stealing Liberty". Sounds interesting, though medieval/fantasy is more my go-to

I'm reading Wolf Soldier by James R. Hannibal. It is SO COOL. I'm listening to it on Scribd. (Anyone heard of Scribd?)

message 2058: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Edwards (jordan_edwards) | 2 comments If you ever have an opportunity to pick up the He Who Finds Mercy series again definitely jump on it!

I’m more of a sci-fi fantasy person as well, but Stealing Liberty really captivated me.

I’ve read Wolf Soldier! It’s a great book! I’ve heard of but never used Scribd.

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments Thank you, Carsie Rose! <3 The fire is still burning, and still only about half contained on my side, but despite the high winds today it didn't spread any farther! The wind has still not gone my direction, but it's supposed to shift this way in the middle of the night.

Someday the Blades of Acktar peer pressure will win the day. *looks at the five books I'm currently reading* But it is not this day.

Kendra Ardnek | 541 comments Meanwhile, we have tornado watches tomorrow morning on my side of Texas.

Would you like review copies of some fairy tale/Jane Austen mashups?

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments Ooooo! I've been very excited to read your S&S Snow White and Rose Red! So I was gonna say yes, but my sis says she has it on kindle apparently, so. . . I can read and review it without you sending one! :)

Hope everyone has a nice Easter!

I doubt she has book two though...

I don't know what Tenebrae is, but my church does a three-fold communion for Good Friday.

Oh fun!
Tenebrae is the service of darkness. You start out with full light and by the end its completely dark. People take turns reading the story of the death and ressurection story, and we sing hymns and worship songs inbetween. When we leave, we leave in silence.

Mary-Therese P. | 4 comments Hey, so I've been trying to make an TIC playlist (here's the spotify link https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3zj...), and I was wondering kept anybody had made a playlist already, or if they had any specific song ideas. I'd be super interested in listening to them!

also, just to be clear, I know there is a specific music chat, but as that was for music and general, and this is exclusively about Ilyon Chronicles, I thought I'd post it here!

Dea | 8 comments Sooo... I didn't see a group solely designed for asking Jaye questions, so I just do it here.

Jaye, why did you choose the name Elôm for your version of God? There are so many choices, why that one in particular?

Also, thank you so much for writing and publishing these books! I love them and how you made each character come alive😊.
