Lisa Scottoline writes mysteries that are more thriller or suspense than cozy. Accused is a Legal Thriller and is not one of her books I've read but I have read others.
When it comes to what I've read by her:
Cuss words: They may be there but I didn't notice so didn't think them out of place.
Graphic Details: less than some other suspense novels I read but more than most cozy readers would expect in a cozy.

Does Elizabeth Peters use cuss words or not? Is she very graphic in details?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Amelia Peabody! They're fun stories, not graphic, no real cusswords because Amelia is very Victorian! Emerson is known as "the Father of Curses" in Arabic for more than one reason but his epithets are pretty mild by modern standards. I learned a lot about Egypt reading this books. I'm slowly working my way through them a second time. I haven't read her Vicky Bliss mysteries though. Modern stories don't appeal to me as much as historical. RIP Barbara Mertz! You are much missed!

I hope you read Amelia! The whole Emerson clan is like family and they still live and breathe for me long after I finished the series. Every time I hear some new discovery about ancient Egypt or worse-the desecration of sites, I think of Emerson. Reading the e-books helps because you can instantly look up references, maps and pictures. Or have a copy of Amelia Peabody's Egypt on hand.

I miss the author also. I loved the series especially when Ramses was a young child.

When I first read the books, I found young Ramses to be too precocious and annoying but as he got older, I missed young Ramses. When I reread the one where he asks some rather adult questions of his Papa, I laughed hysterically. Emerson's explanation of the birds and the bees or amoebas ... was hysterical. Then Ramses asks for a diagram LOL! Poor Amelia. I think (view spoiler) I love them all and miss them. Amelia, Emerson, Ramses, Nefret, David, Abdullah, Saoud, Selim, Sethos, Walter, Evelyn... they're all like family. I need to get back to them soon now it's winter. I only read the books in winter. It's hot enough here in the summer without reading about Egypt. In winter I can imagine the hot sun beating down and it warms me up. Plus the nights are long and dark and I need cheering up.
