The Catcher in the Rye

Jump right in! Everyone’s welcome! :D

Just joined GR looking forward to starting this Feb challenge along with other challenges. I just got my copy and should start this weekend.

I really look forward to seeing how you see these connections! How you interpret the book through that lens.

Hi Cosmic, it’s great to see how much research you’ve put in your comments, well done! However, can you please enclose your entire comment within spoiler tags including the quotes? Those who haven’t read until the part you’ve posted will consider those quotes as spoilers too.

Yes I will be glad too!
Also when I get to the next chapter I will make a note that I am in the next chapter. So far this is just Chapter 1 and I am sure I did not cover them all.

You might wonder if I do this with every book I read. I don't. I don't think every book works this way. I think this book just made me have a lot of questions. I wasn't satisfied with what I was being told the book was about. I felt like there was more...so I started looking.
I don't claim to have exhausted all that is in the Catcher here. I keep finding things...which makes it a treasure hunt.

@Cosmic I've taken little peeks at your comments (haven't started book). I look forward to reading these. Please keep sharing.

I am glad you are enjoying my notes. You might want to read the book first and then come back or read it one chapter at a time and look at my notes.
My notes will not help you ace a test. I don't believe that real learning is conforming to what someone else wants me to think. I think the book kinda reveals this kind of duality in society. One where we know the truth and one where we have to deny the truth in order to fit in.

Everyone reads at their own pace during a Buddy Read. Because participants can be at different parts of the book at different times, it is extremely important to mark spoilers so that the book is not ruined for someone who is not as far along as others!!!
Mark spoilers by placing {spoiler} before the text and {/spoiler} after the text but use the < and > instead of the { and }.
Happy Buddy Reading!
