Amanda | 1791 comments Lynn, thanks for all your work. Your spreadsheet is so helpful!

If I can get in a third book, I was thinking about reading Girl A (in the second chain in the "girl" section) or A Woman Is No Man (at the end of the second chain, connecting to "man").

message 52: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle | 4020 comments I don't have much experience with spreadsheets. Can you tell me if I understand it correctly? I don't have any assignments in the 1st chain, but I have 3 in the 2nd; #s 3, 4, and 8.

By the way, awesome job making the chains. Has your brain recovered yet? :D

message 53: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments That's correct Lanelle, you are currently down to read:

The Girl from the Read Lion Square
A Girl Named Rose
The Man Who Lost Himself

and then we'll take it from there and discuss where we are

Take note, there are two tabs to the spreadsheet. First tab is the provisional plan, the second tab has all the possible books ..."

Thank you for setting this up, Lynn! It looks great from my point of view.

Awesome. *pats self on back*

Okay.

This is fantastic Lynn! So organized!

message 57: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (cseydel) | 252 comments It may just be possible - since The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down is an audiobook, I might be able to squeeze in a second book during the toppler week. Perhaps The Girl Who Fell From the Sky; I believe that one is under 300 pages, and it will fit into chain 2.

We'll see!

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Oh my god, Lynn. You are a miracle worker to be able to make sense from that!! Thank you so much for wrangling us. I've just pulled my books off the shelves ready, and I reckon they look pretty manageable.

Bar the world collapsing, so I'll hold off committing to more right now seeing I don't trust 2021 yet, looking positive and will let us all know early if I can squeeze more in.

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments How we all going, teamies?

I've finished a very long week. Ready for the weekend, to finish my current book, and start topplering!

We just bought two new desks for our study (finally replacing my ex government furniture one my mum got me when I was 15, and I am sure Lexx's came from an op shop around the same time), and they arrived today. We thought they were coming next Friday, but now we have 10 boxes of parts in our lounge room. I'm not sure how to explain to Lexx I am reading all this week instead... lol

I am trying to finish my book from the library before Toppler begins, already a couple of days late on that one.

Ready with my toppler books, they are staring at me from the bookshelf!

Umm good luck explaining to Lexx. :p

message 61: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Yup, I'm trying to get two books finished today so I can start on my toppler books tomorrow!

message 62: by Lanelle (last edited Feb 12, 2021 03:20PM) (new)

Lanelle | 4020 comments The book I started last night I have read several times. I can easily set it aside if I don't finish it by tomorrow noon.

I already own two of my books and I've checked the third out from the library. My devices are charged. I just need to get munchies, and then I'm all set for the Toppler to begin!

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

I have two books I would like to finish but no issue if not. Really looking forward to a relaxing weekend and the Toppler!

message 64: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 1791 comments I finished my current book yesterday and own one of my toppler books, so I'm ready to get started tomorrow! I have to make it to the library to pick up my other book, but at least it came in.

message 65: by [deleted user] (new)

I forgot, being in the UK, my toppler doesn't start until 5pm - plenty of time to finish the two books I am in the middle of, (or at least one).

Marnie (marnie19) | 3259 comments Mine starts at noon. I’ve cleared my current books so am ready to go.

Lynn | 2974 comments Reporting thread is now up: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Which is linked in comment 2

message 68: by Marnie (new)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3259 comments Does it matter what order we read our books in?

message 69: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments If you're confident you can read all your assigned books, then not really (apart from giving me anxiety about it 😉)

If there's some uncertainty, then it would be better to start with the books at the beginning of the chain

message 70: by Marnie (new)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3259 comments Fair enough :) I’ll start with my lion book.

message 71: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments I hope you all finished off those reads, and have a wonderful start to your Toppler.

I'm off to bed and will join you in the morning. I'll be starting with In the Skin of a Lion. Let's kick some butt!!

message 72: by Pragya (last edited Feb 13, 2021 08:05AM) (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4030 comments Yay, ready to begin! Good luck team.

I begin and end the first chain, talk about pressure. Lol. :p

Sharon Hopper | 2423 comments Chores done and vegetable soup leftovers for lunch. Warm comfy socks on. Tea ready to brew. Homemade cinnamon coffee cake ready for an afternoon treat. Books downloaded. Ready to start! Have a good Toppler!

message 74: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished one of my books and dinner prepared for tonight. Books ready. Only 20 minutes to go!

Please pass some of that cake, Sharon. :D

message 76: by [deleted user] (new)

And here we go! I am going to get a good hour in before dinner time. First up The Last Time I Saw You.

message 77: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle | 4020 comments My first book is The Girl from Red Lion Square.

Lanelle wrote: "My first book is The Girl from Red Lion Square."

Sounds good Lanelle. I've added to my TBR!

message 79: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle | 4020 comments Lynn, here's something for you to think about: I can connect the bottom of Chain 1 with the top of Chain 2 with two books.

Say You Still Love Me (yours)
Witch Is Why Time Stood Still
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
The Lion in the Living Room (Marnie's)

message 80: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments If you're happy reading those two books, go for it Lanelle

message 81: by [deleted user] (new)

40% done on my first book. Should finish by Monday. Working week means less reading but I may just get 3 books in if my second book is as readable as my first.

message 82: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 1791 comments I got started with If Only I Could Tell You a little earlier, but had to stop to make dinner (coq au vin for an early Valentine's meal!). Really enjoying it so far. Happy toppling (topplering?), everyone!

message 83: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (cseydel) | 252 comments I've been at a virtual "junior preview day" college event all morning and I haven't started yet! I forgot today was the day :o

My first book is an audiobook, though, so I can hopefully listen while I do other stuff this afternoon. I have to sew some cuddle cups for my daughter's guinea pigs but if it's pretty easy, I can listen while I work.

It's just an idea. I'll stick to the plan you've outlined if you'd rather me do that :)

I've reported my first book.

Not at all, I've changed the spreadsheet with the new plan :)

Lanelle | 4020 comments Lynn wrote: "Not at all, I've changed the spreadsheet with the new plan :)"

Awesome. I'll read one of Witch Is Why Time Stood Still or The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe next then.

I'm Pacific US

message 89: by Marnie (new)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3259 comments I’m in the eastern time zone ( U. S.) just finished my first book and will fall asleep to my second ( probably my fourth reported book.) I have three reading books and one audiobook.

Going to be gone most of tomorrow but I get up early so will make headway in my next book before I leave.

message 90: by Marnie (new)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3259 comments Lynn please add The Sharper Your Knife, the Less You Cry: Love, Laughter, and Tears at the World's Most Famous Cooking School... link word you.

Looks like a quick book that I can comfortably add.

message 91: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4030 comments I am reading Summer in Baden Baden (will link later, am on the app). I am in IST/ GMT+ 5:30. It's Sunday 1430 right now. My sister's kids are here so I am not able to get much reading done. This book requires all my attention, it has sentences that last for a paragraph.

I'm UK - GMT

message 94: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle | 4020 comments Well... I live in Arizona (mountain standard time zone), but I'm currently visiting a daughter and her family in Texas (central time zone). Wednesday I'm flying to Virginia (eastern time zone) to visit my son and his family.

message 95: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm UK GMT too.

message 96: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments I'm on Australian Eastern Daylight Time, so it is currently 11.56pm.

Lexx half built my desk for me yesterday but started again at 5pm today. We've just finished putting it together (minus monitor mounts). I have spent time while there was a large amount of swearing going on in this room reading, but not as far along today as I would have hoped. However, working at home tomorrow which means I'll actually be able to take a lunch break and read in the sun.

Hope everyone had a good first toppler day!

message 97: by [deleted user] (new)

Sounds like great progress Rusalka.

I am almost finished my first book. I swapped over to audio so I could get a few house bits done and go for a walk.

Dave is making the dinner tonight so an evening of reading is on the cards.

I have to go into the office tomorrow but plan to work from home during the rest of the week.

message 98: by [deleted user] (new)

First book down! I think audio may be the way for me to go with topplers. I spent the afternoon listening and cross stitching and enjoyed every minute of it.

Going to spend the evening with Dave and will start my next book tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!

message 99: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4030 comments I have had a busier than usual Sunday today and I was on my feet almost all day long. Very little reading done. I was expecting to finish one book today. Sigh. I am working all of next week and have to write a book chapter from scratch too. Phew, good luck to me!
