I haven't been able to come up with anything to link chain 1, but I could read Dead Is the New Black to connect chain 2&3. It's 190 pages paperback (short) so I could commit to that. Also Peril at End House to get all connected.

Our chain is amazing! We have connected 16 books! In addition to any of the eligible words in the first and last book, if you have a book you want to read with any of the connecting words we can fit it into the chain. That definitely makes is easier to keep making the chain longer!

Edit: Also, I wanted to point out that as of right now the bottom 4 books are all connected to the chain by the same word "guide" so we can reorder them if necessary if you have a word that matches any one of those books. Same with the top two "rose" books. We can swap those if needed.

I know there are a lot of posts, so don't get overwhelmed. There has been a lot of chat about which books we'll be reading. My suggestion would be to try to find books that have one of the connecting words in the title and just let us know what you'll be reading so we can plug it in.

Another option is if you have a book with one of the same words in the title as the first book or one of the bottom four books, I can add it to the top or bottom of the chain. (As of now, I can reorder the bottom books because they all share the same connecting word.)

Can we work with any of these?

None of those words work in our current thread. We could potentially start a second thread. However, it doesn't make sense to remove a book from the current thread because each book added to the current thread it worth 15 points. If we were to take one out to start a new thread, each of the two books in the new thread would only be worth 5 points each. So, we would be removing one book for 15 points and instead reading two books for a total of 10 points. We would actually be reading more to bring our score down.

There is the possibility that someone will want to read something that links with one of your books and not the longer thread or may be able to link one of those books to the longer thread with another book (which would give us 30 points instead of 10!), so it's good to have options. That might take a little time to gopher.

Are you able to get library books, ebooks, or audios? If you can, it is easier to find one of the connecting words in the title of a book you'd like to read and request it, if they have it.

I don't know if anyone has any interest in these books or access to them or if you could do one, Lauri, but they would all work to connect one of your books to the chain. Some of them may be able to be found through the library or inexpensive on Kindle. Or maybe a reseller??

We don't start reading for a week, so there is still time to look into it. Someone else may have another idea for a connecting book that works.

Unfortunately, no. That was the first thing I thought of too, but it is connected by the word "house" not "sea" so it doesn't work. I would have two options - one would be to break the thread in half and the other would be to pull out Cerulean Sea to link to her book, but we'd actually lose points by doing that.

Way to go team! Our list of connecting words is getting longer. If you have a book with any of the following words, it will fit into our current chain.

This list doesn't include all the words from our first and last books, which you can also link to. It is just the connecting words where we can sneak a book into the middle of the chain.

Would it help at all if I were to read Lost & The Lost Hero myself?
I only get books from the library -- no ereaders for me. I just don't like them. I'm going to have a minor medical procedure this week & wont be able to make it in to get new books. That's why I'm limited to what I have on hand right now. I just feel so lame not being able to help more!
