Tied up w/sink plumbing issue in house so if you'd like to start posting on this section, please do. Otherwise, I'll be back tomorrow to start.

All others post on your clock. We'll be here for a few weeks.

Nicole (nicolevickers) | 1814 comments So.....let me just say that I loved this mystery! What an ending, one that I did NOT see coming. I'll admit that it was a little gruesome to think that our beloved Jessica could actually be dealing with 12 murders, but she didn't quite get there. The killer sure had a chip on his/her shoulder, and I'm not saying that some of it wasn't completely and totally justified, but there were others that were hurt who really didn't have anything to do with why this person felt compelled to commit these killings.

I certainly loved the book--the snowbound aspect and Jessica sleuthing as if her life depended on it (as it turns out!)

The ending was a bit bizarre for me, though. I'll follow up on this as this discussion progresses.

I totally didn't see this outcome either. Yikes! Jessica, hope we don't find you later in Popsicle state.

It was a bit bizarre, Pghfan. And Jess is sure getting feisty in her mature age to go out there like that.

Anastasia (anastasiaruff) | 241 comments Loved the book and I agree Jessica did seem to take more risks than is usual for her but then she was stuck on her own

As a former (among many other tasks) chemical safety officer, I was on top of the murder using methylene chloride and its similar acute action of mimicking carbon monoxide poisoning! Though I wonder how the culprit got ahold of this and where it would have been stored in the hotel.

Good Q, Pghfan. If Mr. Land re-joins us, we can ask him. Hope he does.

Bundles of cash. Why don't I ever find a suitcase or valise filled with money? Stained with nail polish not a problem! But really, Ms. DaSalle, what have you been up to?

Poor Mort! I wonder if Mrs. Mort ever warned JB off her hubby given he was always in some stew because of Jessica. LOL

So, as we approach the reveal and wrap of this snowed-in mystery, what say you? Your crits, impressions? Satisfying ending or no? Did you like JB's new form or has she gone too kamikaze lol for your MSW, cozy tastes? Fire away, PI's!

Anastasia (anastasiaruff) | 241 comments A perfect ending. She has always taken some risks. Hard not to with all the murderers she has confronted. Cabot Cove is definitely not a place for visitors.

message 17: by Joanie (new)

Joanie Hinton | 15 comments I really loved this book and think it really made Jessica think and figure out most of the clues alone as no one was there to assist her, except by phone....

So true, Anastasia. And LOL for them sending "a girl" to do the rough stuff. No rocking chair for JB. I heard she's taking up kickboxing at the local gym.

Perhaps the murder numbers climbing is a device to keep the Cabot Cove population down. It appears to be working. LOL

True that, Joanie. The memory-vites I heard JB's taking are working well. I'll need to get some for I rarely figure out whodunit; never seen this one coming. However, Mr. Land did a fine job posing a sleuthing challenge for us. I sorta got on to scheme when story noted the nursery photo. Yet, I still didn't totally figure it out!
