In New York, a retired hitman named John Wick loses his wife to a terminal illness and later receives a puppy from her as a final gift. A few days pass by and after John accidently angers some thugs led by Losef Tarasov they steal his car and kill his puppy. Mob boss Viggo Tarasov is informed of Losef's actions and tells him that John wick is an elite assassin that remains undefeated. Viggo sends 12 hitmen to kill John but he kills them with ease. John checks in at the continental hotel, a hotel that only caters for the criminal underworld and is a safe space. John goes to the red circle club and kills one of Losef's friends as well as 21 guards. Viggo hires Marcus, John's mentor, to kill him but instead he helps john when an assassin named Ms. Perkins tries to kill him. John goes to a church that secretly holds Viggo's money stash and burns it. When Viggo arrives John kills a good amount of his thugs but is almost defeated. Marcus steps in which allows John to learn Losef's location from Viggo, where he kills the henchmen, Losef's friend, and Losef. Viggo kills Marcus while Perkins is executed by the hotel manager Winston for attempting to kill on continental grounds. John goes after Viggo which leads to an intense car and gun fight resulting in john killing the last of Viggo's henchmen and Viggo. John Goes to a nearby pet clinic to treat his wounds and adopts a dog while strolling on a boardwalk where he and his wife had their last date.

I will give this movie 5/5 for its originality, plot, characters, choreography, stunts, and its neo-noir perspective. I like how this movie created a linked underworld society that has rules, its own gold currency, and levels of command. I also loved how well the fighting scenes were from hand-to weapon combat to the 59 headshots, one after the other.
