What is your favorite chapter so far and why?

Mine is the chapter on marriage and how you can bring down or build up your husband. She gave some great examples and stories of her own. I can relate to her stories and have felt very convicted a couple of times while reading. I enjoy that she also gives a list of encouraging words vs discouraging words to remind yourself of when talking to your spouse.

Jaimie DellaVella | 4 comments I also learned a lot from Chapter 5 (Power of a Woman’s Words to her Husband), although I am now single, I will take those lessons with me in my next relationship. I really like chapter 6 (Power of a Woman’s Words to her Friends), good friends are such a blessing! I hope I can be a better friend to hold space, inspire, & unconditionally encourage all women around me! I also love the power-packed words at the end of the chapters.

Celinette | 8 comments I haven’t gotten very far so I’ll have to say the chapter on children. I think it’s important how we say things to kids. Their hearts and minds are so malleable and they absorb everything like a “sponge”. Paul tells us in Eph 6 not to provoke our children. And Psalm 127 says that children are a heritage. They are the future and we should seek, as parents and adults, to speak to them in the light of God’s mercy and grace, as God has done so with us, His children 😊

@jaimie.. Learn this now! LOL I agree! It's soo important and better to practice now than later 🤣. I also loved the chapter on friends and even the chapter on how we encourage strangers! The waitress/waiter story is my fav from that chapter.

@celie very true! I'm not a parent yet but it was a good learning lesson how words can really affect our children and the adults they grow up to be.

We are on our third week of reading but We can give an additional week to read. I will add another final topic to discuss next Monday.

I hope everyone is learning as much from this book as I did and am as I finish the book. There are definitely favorite chapters and stories I will go back to to remind myself how powerful words are. I'm up to the silent part, how there is also a time to be silent! Let's see how that goes..God help me! 😁🤣
