I read the first book; is the series worth continuing?

Cale Johnson (on hiatus) (nerdywhiteboy) | 51 comments YES DEFINITELY! Neal Shusterman is one of my favorite authors :)

message 5: by Nana (new)

Nana scythe doesn't get enough hype!! i think it's because the characters are secondary to the main plot and the themes but it's so so good.

SARAH (chaptersofsarah) Amanda wrote: "I read the first book; is the series worth continuing?"

unlike most people, i actually really disliked the last two books. scythe was really good (like one of my favorites) but the series went downhill from there. not to spoil anything, i feel like the main conflict wasn't actually solved but rather pushed aside. the series isn't for everyone but i think you should give it a try.

i think the second book is the best of the trilogy. it has the most interesting thematic discussions and is honestly unlike anything i've ever read. the third book is average though and i would agree with sarah in that it kind of weakens the plot.

I got the second book at the library and I'm currently rereading the first book

eleanor (eleanormahan) | 1 comments I loved this trilogy too. Easily one of my favorites. I also liked the first and second book better then the third because I didn't particularly like Greysons POV he annoyed me for some reason. But then ending though

sambhavi❦ (sambhavibihari) the ending of the second book broke me, it was so sad :( rowan and citra have my heart, i still have yet to read the last book but i will read it soon!

Nina | 1 comments For me, the series really went downhill after the first book. I didn't like how in The Toll there were so many POV's, and none of them were really interesting. I felt so much weaker than the first two.

maria martinez (mariapmartinez1) | 4 comments im sorry idk but i just didn't like it. i couldn't even read past the first couple of chapters of the second one because of how boring it was. i think that the first quarter of the first book was good and then the rest was just so boring.
