Sheriff Colgate is canned and Esposito approaches Morgan about replacing him. Your thoughts about the offer, Esposito’s motivation and Morgan’s reasons for turning it down? Do you think they’ll be able to coax Todd Harvey, the newly appointed chief deputy, into running for the office?

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments When Esposito said that Colgate resigned and they wanted Morgan to replace him, I figured it was another ploy to get rid of her as opposing counsel. I think the main reason Morgan turned them down is because there would be no one to stand up for the people who may be railroaded by the police/district attorney. She's seen this happen several times in the last year.

Todd Harvey might make a good Sheriff. He seemed smart and willing to work with Lance.

Colgate getting canned was welcome news but Esposito’s offer was suspect. He’s trying to eliminate competition and make himself look better.

This just doesn’t seem like a good career move for Morgan. With three small children at home and a new marriage on the horizon, that job would strain her precious time with family and give so little in return. And the politicians with say over her are all people she doesn’t respect.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1810 comments Knowing Esposito, he just wants Morgan out of the way so he doesn't have to worry about her undermining his cases.

I agree with Jonetta about it not being a good idea for Morgan or Lance.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments Ditto.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3484 comments ll I can say is Yahoo Colgate is gone. I'm glad Morgan didn't take the job. She wouldn't like having her hands tied the way Esposito and others would if she were sheriff. I like her working with Lance and Sharp.
