Nikki | 663 comments Hi,

I just went back to my 2020 challenges thread on here and it's still sitting there sadly, waiting patiently for me to come back since I started ignoring it almost exactly a year ago, when life first took this strange dreamlike turn. If anything, I've been reading more since then (after a slight pause right at the start of the first lockdown where I couldn't even concentrate on that) but I've found it a lot harder to get my thoughts in order and to keep on top of reviews, and I think I need to take a break and - at least for a while - go back to reading for pure relaxation.

So if it's ok, I'm going to switch into lurking mode for a while - I'd like to keep an eye on the monthly challenges and posts to get some recommendations for varied & interesting books, but I'm going to bow out of the games and stop thinking of reviews as one more thing I'm 'supposed' to get done.

I don't know whether I'll be back when life eventually settles down a little (I hope so!) but I didn't want to just fade out without taking a moment to say goodbye and also thank you - to the admins for all their hard work but also to all of you who participate for the excellent reading recommendations and for making this what I'm sure is one of the friendliest and most wholesome corners of the internet.

Nikki

Nikki,
There is no rule that you have to post reviews to be a member of Play Book Tag. You may put into what you wish. If you don't want to write reviews, DON'T. But please, take a peek at us every so often, comment when you wish to, tell us if you really liked a book without reviewing it, catch up on your friends. This is a no pressure group.

Joanne (joabroda1) | 12570 comments We have missed you Nikki, but I and I am sure everyone else understands. Life does get in the way once in awhile. I hope while you lurk you stop in and say hi occasionally

Theresa | 15525 comments Lurking has its role in life and online groups! I lurk a lot elsewhere, LOL.

What is important is that you are enjoying books and your time with them. Not them be work or one more burden.

In meantime, may your life be full of joy and great reads.

Yes, yes, this! We are here whenever you feel ready, Nikki!

Charlotte | 1701 comments I agree what with what everyone says. I love this group because you can participate exactly as much or as little as you want. I got burnt out on one of the challenges last year and just stopped. I realized no one was grading me on how much or what I was reading. I read for fun and if I feel like writing a review, I do. If I don't, I don't.

The only thing that I try to do is comment on the fun Tues post at least once. I love staying in touch with everyone.

Most importantly, take care of yourself during these crazy times and do what feels right for you!!
