Emma I’ve already finished this but am still looking forward to the discussion.

Monica I am looking forward to reading this and discussing it this month!

Eleanor | 7 comments Do people usually read books prior to the discussions or is it more of a read along?

Emma I *think* people usually read along, but in the few group reads I’ve done no one has been reading at the same time, so I’ve had to read their comments afterwards!

Eleanor | 7 comments I haven't read it yet but I quite like the concept. What did you think of it Emma?

Emma I liked the magic of the setting- I’m not sure if there’s a spoiler thread separate to this so I don’t want to influence your reading!

Hi Emma! You can use spoiler tags to safely say what you want, and other group member's can open it when they decided they're ready for spoilers. It looks like this: (view spoiler)

To use this cool Goodreads feature, put the word "spoiler" inside of these: < > and mark the end of it with "spoiler" inside these: < / >

Nikki Sojkowski (nikkisoj) | 868 comments I really enjoyed reading Everless. I think the concept of your life-force being a literal currency is really cool and that Sara Holland did a great job of showing how horrible that society would be. In a way, it's kind of a huge, scary exaggeration of current American capitalism. What did you guys think?

Kim Kaso | 94 comments I am 100+ pages in, just started last night at bedtime, and all I want to do today is read this book.

Eleanor | 7 comments I started reading it earlier today and now I've nearly finished it (chapter 27). Completely sucked in! After reading Red Queen though I'm really suspicious of all the characters motives, like I feel none of them are trustworthy (except maybe Lora). Am I right to be suspicious or is Roan all he's cracked up to be?

Kim Kaso | 94 comments Everless was at least a 4.5, rounded up to a 5. One of the best reads so far this year. I am loving Enchantment of Ravens, an authentic voice with splashes of the artistic world of Charles deLint’s marvelous Newford books & the foreignness of the fey, also recalls Holly Black’s marvelous depiction of the dangers of faerie, and yet it is shaping up to be very much its own story. Such a good month of reading, and I have not even gotten to Sarah J. Maas yet. It helps, it’s been a terrible month on some levels. My best friend has “double pneumonia” & cannot shake it, my daughter had COVID 3000 miles away, she came through it, but I was so scared, and my nephew has leukemia. I need other places to be sometimes after a bad news day.

Ellie (dancingfae310) | 2 comments Has anyone else noticed weird inconsistencies/editing issues in this book? Like, when the servant was telling the girls how the Alchemist imprisoned the Alchemist in Everless...

I've already finished reading this book last year and loved it!
An interesting concept that I really liked, it also reminded me of the movie In Time which had a similar concept but less gory.

nel ݁༉‧₊˚ .ᐟ (nelthepisces) | 2 comments I just reread this book after 3 years so I could read the sequel. I didn't even realize it was a BOTM :) . I really enjoyed tis book, it was a quick and fun fantasy read. The worldbuilding was definitely my favorite aspect of it.
(The second book was also pretty good by the way, but this is the superior one in my opinion.)

I have to agree that I enjoyed the first book more over the second book :)

Pao Salguero (bookscoffeeandpao) I started Everless about two days ago and just finished it. I literally couldn’t put it down. The beginning was a bit confusing for me, but after that everything was smooth sailing. Great book! I gave it a 4/5 rating. About to start working on my review soon 😁
