Christabelle (christabelleallestad) | 148 comments Is it really March?! How are you all doing? Happy with your reading?

I finished A Voice in the Wind and will finish An Echo in the Darkness soon. Two long books, but well worth it.

Goals for March:

Mere Christianity
Answering Jihad: A Better Way Forward
The Ragamuffin Gospel: Good News for the Bedraggled, Beat-Up, and Burnt Out

Beth Stel | 32 comments Hi all! Finally checking in for March here. Finished 7 books in February, not as many as I wanted but so be it.

For March:
Finish: Just as I Am (didn't get that one finished in March)
The Authority of Roses
Alone in an Untamed Land: The Filles Du Roi Diary of Helene St. Onge
Read: Ruth, A Portrait: The story of Ruth Bell Graham
The Magician's Nephew
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Sarah, Plain and Tall
I want to get to a few more books yet this month but have some other things going on so that might not be possible! We shall see.

Christabelle (christabelleallestad) | 148 comments How are you doing so far, Beth? Think you might get to your "few more books"? I just started The Ragamuffin Gospel: Good News for the Bedraggled, Beat-Up, and Burnt Out after finishing the other two. I also started The Magician's Nephew with the kids and had Love-Centered Parenting: The No-Fail Guide to Launching Your Kids come in from the library, so I might get those in this month as well!

Congrats on the books, by the way. And happy reading! 😁

Amber Thiessen (amber_thiessen) | 69 comments It's always exciting when there's a stack ready at the library :)...although it can also be overwhelming!!

I've not gotten back to Harry Potter yet, my daughter raced me and finished the series. I'm working on The Work of Christ: What the Events of Jesus' Life Mean for You and The Apostles' Creed: Discovering Authentic Christianity in an Age of Counterfeits for some Easter preparation.

Beth Stel | 32 comments Hi Christabelle! It's not looking so promising as I've only finished 2 of the 3 of my current reading so far. I know 3 of my to-read books will be quick reads but I have to sit down and actually read them, haha!! And then I got Where the Crawdads Sing from my sister-in-law so that's going to bump something!

Beth Stel | 32 comments Christabelle, how do you like The Ragamuffin Gospel: Good News for the Bedraggled, Beat-Up, and Burnt Out? Amber, did you read that too? Looks like it might need to be an addition to my list!

Amber Thiessen (amber_thiessen) | 69 comments Hey Beth! Sometimes a new book just lands on your shelf and you just have to bump something for a bit 😁! Yes I have read the Ragammuffin Gospel...but it was a few years ago, I liked it, but don’t remember why...🤔

Christabelle (christabelleallestad) | 148 comments I hear ya on trying to make time on the short reads! I have a couple library books with holds that will have to be returned, so I keep pushing off the shorter ones. Hopefully you'll get the chance. I did like Crawdads, so hopefully you do too!

Ragamuffin reminds me that "not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;" (I Corinthians 1:26‭-‬27). So far it's been a humbling reminder that I add nothing to the gospel.
