Abigail Boateng | 17 comments To me things fall apart is a confusing book. It is interesting but it is too scattered. There are too many names in the story and too many different things happening at once. I did get the gist of the book though, and it is interesting. I think the part that threw me off is the names, Since I am not Nigerian, I found it hard to pronounce all the different names and I got confused. The book is about Okonkwo and his family. It discusses the relationship he has with each of the family members. The book also talks about living in a Nigerian village and discusses the rules and guidelines that comes with the ethnic group. It gives us a look into the lives of Nigerians from that ethnic group.

I would rate this book a 3 out of five. The book was just a little too confusing for me personally to understand. I did enjoy how detailed the book was though. I loved the information that was in it. Even though I had never been to Nigeria, I felt like I knew a little more about Nigeria after reading the book. I love how the author did not try to modernize the plot in any way. The things that were written are things that you would have seen happening in traditional ethnic group in Nigeria. The book is intriguing as it allows you to dive deeper into the traditions of an ethnic group in Nigeria.
