Like a character with a supernatural ability to do so? There aren’t really any “powers” or such, save for the gift with foresight. Everything else is just learned over time.

Dark magic doesn’t mean supernatural powers, it’s spells and runes and other types of magic. Learned, not inherited or gifted. It also focuses mainly on offense and types of magic that are considered “evil” (even though they aren’t.)

Actually, a student wouldn’t be able to just walk around demon-possessed.

There’s only one type of demon that would possess someone for a long amount of time, and that kind are all malicious and destructive. They wouldn’t just go to classes and learn stuff, they’d be causing chaos using the student’s form solely to channel that energy. Also, demonic possession hurts. Like a lot. It can kill your soul if you’re possessed for longer than a week. Plus, people would be able to identify if she was possessed, as it causes changes in appearance (sharpened teeth, pure black eyes, etc). Since people don’t get possessed willingly (or they shouldn’t, because as stated, it will kill them), people would be trying to get the demon out of her.

The only way I can really think of for her to have those powers would be for her to have summoned a demon and made a deal with it in exchange for those powers, but to do that she would have to give up an important part of herself. The ability to love (and not just romantic love, but all love. Family love, platonic, etc.), her soul, an important memory that shaped who she is, stuff like that. She would have to lose something bigger than what she was receiving. Plus, a student wouldn’t have the skill to purposely summon a malice demon until at least their third year.

Sorry for the really long explanation, I have a ton of random worldbuilding in my head. :)

Yeah, the group is more about the learning magic stuff.

Mental stability may not be the best, as there are quite a few people who don’t have it that haven’t made deals. The ability to love would be better, yes.

I don't think Firefly wants that kinda stuff in her group? I think it's centered a lot more around the school itself, and I really don't think Firefly wanted characters who can ~see fears and have superpowers~ in her group? Please correct me if I'm wrong, that's just how it seemed :)

I was wondering if I can just write a paragraph for them like I usually do? 'Cause, for example, with the history, you have the ages separated, as well as the traits for the personality. May I just write a paragraph including all of that? Instead of separating them?

How do I get my character aproved?

Once you’ve completed your character, put them in the submission topic and wait for a mod to look though their profile and tell you what needs editing and such.

how many years would a seventeen year old have at the academy?

A seventeen years old student would typically have either 4 or 5 years at the academy. However, there is a very slim percentage of students that get their invitation later, if they show signs of being a magic user later in life, so if you'd like for them to have less than that then you may!

Well, there are individual classes for various types of dark magic (eg, necromancy, runes, demon summoning), but they're generally grouped together and collectively referred to as one Dark Magic. Does that make sense?

So basically Wyatt is a bit different since he is seventeen and got his letter two years ago.

Honestly, if you run a class, you can just make stuff up or get information off the internet. I have a short description of each class in the info/lore topic, so as long as it fits with that, you can run completely wild with it. You don't even have to look it up if you don't want to, you can just kinda bullshit it. That's what I plan to do with the demon-summoning class, anyway, mainly because I daydreamed up this whole weird system and wanted to use it. Sorry for rambling lmao.

Could I possibly make a character w/ Natural magic in this group, since the group specifically for it has yet to be made? I just don't have any ideas for an OC w/ dark magic. History part is difficult for me on fem!Asura, so I'm thinking of deleting her and going with something else... But I still can't think of anyone good for dark magic.
