I loved Mina's Garnet Hill series (at least the first 2, which you just reminded me to put the third on my tbr list. )

I thought this was another well done and interesting work by the author. Lots of suspense and her usual atmospheric setting, this time a small Tasmanian town on the ocean...."
I found the setting of The Survivors so compelling. Harper really made the ocean and the caves come alive and suffuse the story with dread.
You've got a few there I'd like to pursue, Sandi! Good month indeed.

Slip of the Knife - Denise Mina
The third installment of this series featuring a young female journalist in Glasgow. Set in 1990, ten years or so after the first book, Paddy has become a fairly well known columnist but retains her reporting instincts when a former co-worker is found dead. Well done in the author's usual dark style with great characters and atmosphere.
The Survivors - Jane Harper
I thought this was another well done and interesting work by the author. Lots of suspense and her usual atmospheric setting, this time a small Tasmanian town on the ocean.
Good Reads
Lying in Wait - Liz Nugent
Set in Dublin during the early eighties this psychological thriller had family secrets, twists, and some really disturbing characters. Listened to the audio version which was narrated by Caoilfhionn Dunne, David McFetridge, and Lesley McGuire who all did a fantastic job.
Mangrove Squeeze - Laurence Shames
Another enjoyable Key West caper. Recurring character Bert the Shirt is always fun and the plot kept me engaged. Listened to the audio version which was narrated by Richard Ferrone.
