Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2454 comments You're almost done! Oooh The Five! I've got it on my Hoopla list for April borrow and I'm so excited for it! How is Hummingbird Salamander? I really struggled with the Southern Reach trilogy and haven't read any of his others.

I hope you like The Five! I thought it was really good and I'm not normally a nonfiction fan.

Hummingbird Salamander is good! It has been hard for me to put it down. I haven't read any of his other books so I can't compare it. It has some scifi in it as in a climate issues and a worldwide pandemic (I know that doesn't seem so scifi now lol), but it's not the main plot. I actually feel it's more of a thriller, but it was classified as scifi on NetGalley so I'm using it for that.

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2454 comments I bought King of Scars and Rule of Wolves this past weekend. First time stepping in a bookstore in over a year! I have not read any of Grishaverse books yet but I had to own these beautiful hardcovers! lol. And I bought them from my local indie. I do own S&B trilogy on e-book so I intend to start reading them soon!

But not that much time, only 2 weeks! I never watch a Netflix show when it airs anyway. lol.

I'm finally going to a bookstore later this week! It's been over a year for me too, I feel like a kid going to Disneyland lol! Definitely start with the S&B trilogy. I also recommend the Six of Crows duology before King of Scars. I hope you enjoy the Grishaverse!

Yes, I plan on reading them in the suggested order! Haven't decided how I want to buy SoC duology, ebook or physical. I did try the audiobook before and could not get into the narrator.

I know the SoC books have multiple narrators, but I’ve never listened myself.

That's a tough decision! I ended up buying the collector's editions for the duology from Book Depository because I couldn't resist the gorgeous covers! They're more expensive than the paperbacks but a little cheaper than a new release hardcover. There aren't any full page illustrations other than the map, so you won't lose anything by reading the ebooks though.

Good to know, thanks! I have gotten some beautiful UK covers of Harry Potter and The Winternight Trilogy from Book Depository.
