What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

PathfinderThe boy can see living things trails including animals. He uses this for hunting early on in the book. He has a sort of mother figure that works in a tavern where he sells the fur from the animals he hunted.
I read the book 3-7 years ago.

SPOILERS

The boy's "dad" isn't his dad. It's a robot. When humanity was going to this planet something went wrong and everybody got cloned 20 times including the ships AI. They split the planet into 20 something sections using some barrier that you can't cross. The MC crosses it eventually. Each group of clones inhabits one of these sections. The boys dad was the AI in charge the section the boy lives in.
