I'm on chapter 4 and so far... I feel it's a lil' boring. Kote, the inn keeper is very very strange. It's clear though that his real name is something else.
I read this back in 2019 and will try and follow the discussion. Will only say now that it is a long book and does take a while to unfold but think your patience will be rewarded.
Okay, I agree. Things get a little interesting at the end of chapter 6. When kote tells his story to Devan a.k.a the Chronicler. So I'm currently on chapter eight and looking forward to read more.
Although it is now just turned spring, think that Rothfuss described autumn just perfect, "It was one of those perfect autumn days so common in stories and so rare in the real world. The weather was warm and dry, ideal for ripening a field of wheat or corn. On both sides of the road the trees were changing color. Tall poplars had gone a buttery yellow while the shrubby sumac encroaching on the road was tinged a violent red. Only the old oaks seemed reluctant to give up the summer, and their leaves remained an even mingling of gold and green."
I finished the book last month but I am excited to join the discussion since I loved it! I totally get why the story might seem boring at the beginning but I honestly fall in love after the first page. Rothfuss just has something in his style of writing that totally captivated me <3
