Hard SF discussion

Many thanks to those of you who may have responded to this same post on the FB Hard SF group. There were several good points made but I wasn't able to come to a decision. Here's the post:

Hi, HSF fans. May I appeal to the hive mind for some ideas?
I am translating a series of HSF novels from Japanese to English and often come across a word that I can’t find a satisfactory English translation for.
The word is 搭載機 (tō sai ki) and means a craft which is carried on board another craft, usually a space warship.
If it’s a particular craft, I can use an appropriate name; interceptor, shuttle, probe, ROV, etc, and there are plenty of terms available from navies on Earth. The problem arises when the story refers to “all of the craft aboard a ship”, or an unspecified type of craft launched by another ship.

Do aircraft carriers have a single term to cover ALL their boats and aircraft? It doesn’t include missiles, mines and the like, BTW.

In certain cases, the word “craft” is sufficient, but this word by itself doesn’t signify that it is normally carried aboard a larger ship.
Any suggestions?

P.S. I'm currently working on a novel by Koshu Tani, who started writing about his hard SF work in the mid 1980s and is still going. We released his "The Erinys Incident" （エリヌス戒厳令）a couple of years ago, and I'd like to do more of the (non-sequential) series.

As a general term, aircraft is used. So here I would suggest aerospace craft or deep space craft. Or--if you have both types on board--how about just carried craft? Launch all carried craft. Or carrier craft.

Alternatively, if the fleet is heavily based on the Japanese, why not leave Latinized Japanese names, as in, "Launch all Tosakis" and upon the first encounter of a unit type add an asterisk and a translator's description. This could add flavor.
