I've never been out of my own country (Philippines), so technically, any other country would be "different" for me, but I chose Indonesia because I've never read a story or I think even watched movies set there.
I'm going somewhere near my country yet is totally foreign to me.
I'm really excited for Saman because it "deals explicitly with themes of sexuality, taboo for women writers in Indonesia at that time" (wiki). Indonesia's mostly conservative so it's exciting to see people break against the mold.
