I am super excited for this read! I have never red the book, watched the movie and somehow manage to know very little about the plot. So happy to finally read it

Lindsay I am in the same boat as you! So I’m excited to read this very well known story that I know nothing about!

This will be the first book I will be reading with this group. I’m a huge musical fan and I’ve truthfully never really saw the hype of this musical hopefully reading the book will help me a little. I’m starting it a little early just because I’m listening to the audiobook and normally audiobooks take me a bit because I work a lot.

Lindsay and Justine, I am right there with you, I have no idea what the plot of this story is but I know it has been very popular for generations.
I nominated this book because it has been on my shelf for a long time and I bought it thinking "everyone has read/seen this story but me." I am looking forward to diving in to it and seeing what all the hype is about. If I enjoy the book I am going to seek out a live performance of Phantom of the Opera.

I'm excited for this one! I read it a long time ago after I saw the musical for the first time and I don't remember very much! I remember I liked it a lot so I'll be happy to revisit that.

I've been wanting to read this book for such a long time! I have never seen any film adaptations and don't know too much about the story, so I'm excited to jump into it.

I'm also joining with this one. I've seen the musical and I think I watched the movie. I vaguely remember what it is all about.

I did a fair bit of research before deciding to join in. There are a number of translations, so I was glad to see that the edition my library has, The Essential Phantom of the Opera, is not one of the worst (according to random internet sources).

I've already read the introduction, too. I've not seen any films/performances of this and so my expectations are low and vague....

I've seen the musical live and watched the movie adaptation of it, but I am still excited to read the book for the first time! I know out of the handful of musicals I've seen live The Phantom of the Opera has been my favorite!

i’ll be joining this one as well! mostly bc i loved the play and i think i’m in love with ramin karimloo as phantom. never thought to read the book, i’m honestly pretty excited :)
