So excited to start this today! I've got to finish I Was Here and get at least halfway through The Mark of Athena and then I'll officially start reading this one.

Through Chapter 1

(view spoiler)[Dating two people at the same time is never good. Been there, done that. Ends up bad for everyone involved. The second Simon walked into the restaurant and saw the woman, I knew it was Camille. This is so awesome. I'm a bit weary about Camille. I trust her more than I do Raphael because I know her from Clockwork Angel but still. What she's offering... How do we know that she's telling the truth? That she wants what she says she wants and means peace.

Chapter 5

Through Chapter 3

(view spoiler)[Simon says that even after the whole enchantment thing with his mom's memory, she's become more suspicious. I think that her mother sense is tingling. She knows something is up, things don't feel right. Magnus in a sari! Haha, what a beautiful image. I don't trust Kyle. Not at all. Whoa! That guy just shattered and crumbled to salt. I know this is supposed to be a curse but it's one awesome curse.The wedding though, the marriage. Good things can come from destruction...sometimes. My heart practically broke when Simon's mom confronted him. For him to hypnotise her just so that he doesn't lose her and he doesn't destroy her was heart wrenching. It's sad that Jace can't forget. That he can't move on. He's accepted that Stephen is/was his father but he can't forget that Valentine wasn't his father. It still haunts him. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 1-7


(view spoiler)[I'm glad that Jocelyn & Luke are going to get married. I know that Luke has been in love with her for a long time. I don't like that Simon is dating two women at the same time. We can be pretty sure that will not work out for him. It was weird to find out that his roommate was a werewolf. I will be honest I did not see that coming. I still don't care much for Jace. I don't mind sarcasm when its supposed to be funny but he comes across as arrogant. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 8-14


(view spoiler)[I can't believe that Simon bit Maureen. It sucks too that she ended up dead but at least it wasn't because of the bite. It's weird that Jace actually tried to physically hurt Clary. Although, we know somebody is messing with his mind. Even though Simon hurt Isabelle and Maia it's nice that they all are on speaking terms. (hide spoiler)]

I'm up to page 301.
(view spoiler)[I love picturing Magnus and Alec on vacation together. The descriptions that Jace gave of the pictures he was getting made me laugh. I'm glad that I know that Kyle is Jordan, the werewolf who bit Maia. It's nice to hear his side of the story. I hope that Jordan and Maia get back together. I hope that the Silent Brothers are able to help Jace with his nightmares, but I don't think that will happen until the end of the book, if it happens in this book. I think that it's all connected to what is happening with the Shadowhunter deaths and the death of the newborn. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 17
(view spoiler)[ WHAATTT!!??? What the heck is Jace up to!?!?! I brought her, lady lillith... Is it really him? Is he being hypnotized? Or is someone else pretending to be him?

So I have 8 minutes left in the book. I have to say.. this is probably my favorite book so far.

Oh good to hear! Glad you are enjoying it. I honestly considered stopping the series after book three so I am glad you think this one is better.

Chapters 15-19


(view spoiler)[Overall I liked it but I did tend to find these guys a bit stupid and immature at times. Really Alec? Was it necessary to act like that? He is 800 years old of course he has had other lovers. I can't believe how easily Simon bit Sebastian and now because of it Jace and Sebastian now have a connection. It would be nice if Maia and Jordan get back together. Clearly they still have feelings for each other. (hide spoiler)]

I finished today, and I liked this book better than the third one. (view spoiler)[I'm not surprised that Sebastian/Jonathan came back, but I am surprised that it was because of Simon and Jace. (hide spoiler)]

That's why I don't want to try audiobooks. I'm afraid the same thing will happen to me too.

On chapter 4. This one is hard to get into. I am hoping it gets better!

(view spoiler)[Okay so maybe Camille is the bad guy. As Raphael said, vampires are very cunning so I don't really trust either of them. This person murdering shadowhunters, and trying to blame it on the downworlders, I think they really are against the new accords. And that baby, someone must be trying to continue what Valentine started. My only thought is Jonathan. Even though Isabelle said she saw the body I can't fully believe that. Aha! I knew there was a reason for me not trusting Kyle! He's Jordan, the guy who turned Maia. Oh man, this just got more interesting! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I forgot her name in this series, I knew Raphael said he was standing in for the head vampire but I couldn't remember her name. It wasn't until she was talking to Simon that I realised.

Through Chapter 16

Oh man, oh man, oh man! I was going to pause and listen to the last 2 hours later tonight but I'm going to finish it immediately after I post this.

(view spoiler)[So Jordan lost control...we know his side of the story but Maia was traumatised. Her life was stolen from her. She has a right to be angry still. Maureen is dead, but Maureen is a vampire. How was Simon supposed to know that those guys meant her when they sent the threat? And the Magnus/Camille thing is unveiled. Wow, Alec was angry. And they mentioned Will! I hope they expand on that a little bit more so that they can get the connection. (Clockwork Angel reference). Satrina is Lilith! I KNEW IT! JONATHAN IS NOT TECHNICALLY DEAD! Satrina was trying to say something when Simon interrupted her. She said 'A life for a life' Could she mean that because Clary asked Raziel to bring Jace back, to be fair a life had to be given to the dark side too and that Jonathan was also brought back to life? Makes sense. But to turn him into a vampire, no no no. That would be hell on earth. A new war would break out. Bad bad. (hide spoiler)]

Wow! What an epic journey!

So I didn't finish it immediately because of distractions that go by the name of fanfiction. But this was beautiful!

(view spoiler)[So I was right in thinking that Lilith wanted to raise Sebastian. The fact that Jace was practically possessed was a bit frightening. For a guy who's always so sure of himself to be brought down so low, it's sad. I'm glad that Luke stood by Simon and made him see that he would be loved either way. That last scene though, that was just...wow. Jace and Sebastian- Jonathan- being one is...what?! What does this mean? I don't want Jace to be a possible bad guy and to be tied to that crazy demon infested worm. No!! (hide spoiler)]

Overall 4.5/5. Bumped it up to 5 because this book deserves that instead of a 4.

Finished this last night. (view spoiler)[I had a feeling that Sebastian wasn't dead, but never expected him to be linked to Jace. Can't wait to see the outcome of that. I feel bad for Simon feeling left out but i'm glad Luke was there to ask him if he was ok. For me its getting old the whole Jace doesn't feel good enough for Clary, what does she have to do to prove to him that they are meant to be together. (hide spoiler)] I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to see what happens!!!

Have you guys heard? On Cassandra Clare's site I read that ebooks will be released during the rest of the year based on Simon's life. Like the Bane Chronicles, but this is the Lewis Chronicles. I'm not sure of the name yet, I hope that they print a physical book. Also, she's planning on doing another series which is the continuation of The Infernal Devices. I'm going to need to clear out an entire shelf just for her books one day.
