Hello to enthusiastic readers and creative writers! Finally, we have a theme for our very first Writing Contest of the group: Revenge!

This contest starts from 9th April and will close on 8th May. Below are the details of how this will work:-

1. Participants must follow the theme chosen, which implies that the general plot must be based on the theme but other elements of the story are kept open to participant's imaginations.
2. The contest will close on 8th May, participants must submit their stories by 8th May, failing which, it won't be considered in the competition.
3.The word limit is 1000-2000 words.
4.The results of this contest will be decided through a group poll, which includes everyone in the group. Participants will be allowed to vote but, not their own work. This will be ensured by the Mods.
5. A separate thread will be created where, members and participants can discuss about the contest, their progress, participants can advertise their work and ask for tips/leave tips, etc. The participants can also take members' opinions regarding their story, what they'll like to see in it etc.

Is it okay to start on a rough draft for the story? (Outline, character personalities, etc.) Or should I wait until tomorrow...?

Does the story have to be set in the real world?
Could it be a fictional place?

We have officially kept it from 9th so the participants can think beforehand as the theme was decided only yesterday...so it's up to you whatever you do with this time :-)

Right now we haven't decided because out of 10 only 6 have confirmed their participation so we'll update about in 3-4 days.

I think, they can fail, the plot must revolve around revenge, outcome is up to you.
