Tracked by an entity bent on revenge, these childhood friends are helpless as the culture and traditions they left behind catch up to them in a violent, vengeful way

I'll start this now and finish up tomorrow :D I'm excited!

15% (view spoiler)[This is weird, nothing's happening and I have no idea what Lewis (?) and Peta are doing in their lounge room.. How did he see an elk that wasn't there? And why is he recreating it?

And where did that elk go in the prologue? I can't see how this is going to be a horror, it's just random. (hide spoiler)]

20% (view spoiler)[The narrator is a little annoying with the accents. And I quite like the writing, but it's really descriptive of random things. (hide spoiler)]

35% (view spoiler)[Wait the dog wasn't in the grave? I'm confused, doesn't help that I think I zoned out coz I'm bored. Why does he need to see Shaney through the fan? It's so random (hide spoiler)]

I agree. It's very confusing at this point. It feels like a fever dream.

Ricky's section at the very beginning (view spoiler)[made me sad. He really was just trying to survive. I could feel his fear as he went into the parking lot. Not an ideal situation to find yourself in at all. (hide spoiler)]

Yes, very atmospheric. Easy to get sucked in. I don't mind the accents.
(view spoiler)[Also the reason that they're being 'hunted' and that Lewis was the first one to be targeted (according to him anyway) makes sense but also..doesn't. Also listening to them describe it...Ick! Something I never thought I'd ever have to listen to (hide spoiler)]

I WAS SO CONFUSED!!!! (view spoiler)[I was 100% sure that he was having a breakdown because of guilt over what happened when he was younger. Because what could looking through a fan do? Was the blade spinning going to distort the illusion and help him see the real face? FEVER DREAM! (hide spoiler)]

That part was (view spoiler)[disgusting! I was anxious all the way through hoping that he wasn't making a mistake but also, even if he wasn't, how was he going to cover it up? But then he found the elk calf in his wife's belly and now we're full circle and I'm even more anxious for him (hide spoiler)]

DNFed at 61%. This was just too weird. I was anticipating it as something creepy, but I don't know how this has a 3.77 rating. How do so many people like weird shit. I kept waiting for this to get better, but it kept getting weirder and making no sense. I don't know what else to say about this but it would have put me in a slump if I had to only read it with my eyes. Least I had the audio to follow with.

The more stuff that happened the less I cared. I just take my reading too literally I suppose

Yes the audio definitely makes the experience better(?).

Final thoughts - (view spoiler)[I think I was prepared for this being weird and not exactly logical, so I didn't hate the experience at all. I expected to feel confused so when I couldn't figure out what was real and what was in their mind, I liked it. What I wish had gone differently was how it ended. It all felt too neat. (hide spoiler)]

I'd still recommend it though.
