Keely (kiwifruit192) | 1813 comments Thank you Lexi.

And yes, I have morris dancing covered. I'll be reading A Deadly Education once I finish Bleak House which I am hoping will be in the next few days.

I am also planning to read Artemis Fowl and the Time Paradox (Artemis Fowl, #6) by Eoin Colfer soon. Would you say that is a yellow enough cover? There was some dispute about it in UNO. If not I will find a different task to use it for.

I have a few other yellow covered books I found that I can read one of instead so I can definitely cover that if no one else wants to claim it.

One month in and this team has read close to 200 books, that is quite impressive!

We are doing really well and knocking out tasks/Bingo spaces left and right, great BOM participation, and just overall this is an awesome team.

Go Team!!

Happy Reading :)

SandyL | 4747 comments I hope you had a great weekend with your sister and her family, @Lexi! So glad you were able to get together after so long apart!!

Thanks for the update on how we're doing, @Judith! We've got awesome leadership for an awesome team!!

message 424: by Redshirt (new)

Redshirt (kessa_cirtos) | 135 comments I had a super relaxing weekend where I gamed with my sisters, caught up on some shows, read a good amount and chilled with my fiancee.

@Jen, I've read more books per month since I've started joining up Goodreads' challenges. It's so cathartic to see my reading numbers average closer to what I was doing back in high school.

@Lexi, it's awesome that you chilled with fam this weekend!

@Judith, aw. Definitely going to have to blame the leadership for the stellar results. Makes being a part of this team effortless and fun.

@SandyL Glad you're here, too!

So I'm up for the BOM (The Midnight Library) starting tomorrow and I wasn't sure if there's supposed to be a reading timeline. Could anyone point me in the right direction? I feel like it's supposed to be x-chapters (given the discussion questions), but I'm not entirely sure and am nervous about my first BOM participation!

Here's a link to the chapter breakdown and the BOM discussion thread. And no worries if you fall behind or read ahead. Though if you read ahead, try not to give away spoilers or use the spoiler tag.

Jen wrote: "I hope everyone had a great weekend! I have enjoyed reading my new books. Before this challenge, I read 3 books a month. Then this month I read 9 books!! Has anyone else been reading more books?"

Challenges tend to up my reading but I pretty hop from team challenge to team challenge so my reading level rarely drops low for long. I'm trying thought to read things on my tbr as much as possible, doesn't always happen though.

This weekend was fun but busy. My husband turned the big 4-0 so we had the first family get together since the pandemic started, though it was still a fairly small group of 20. I realized that I am way out of practice hosting. It was exhausting. LOL

This book can hit you in the feelings and it shows how devastating depression and mental illness can be. And misunderstood.

not reading any tear-jerkers right now. But whenever Backman's Those Who Run Towards Fire comes out, I'm sure I'll be crying through half the book.

FYI team,

Lexi, Jen, and I are starting to make some plans for the Jackanory (story). Once we get some general things sketched out, one of us will post some things for people to target with books.

This seems to be a task driven team (yay!, y'all are like me) so we thought some light direction would be helpful for everyone. And hopefully we'll end up with a fun & cohesive story.

It hasn't published yet (at least not in English). But it will be book 3 in the Beartown series. This series is excellent. Honestly I am a huge fan of his. Anytime a new book of his comes out, I just fling money.
