DQs are set by various members following the guidelines below:

Guidance for DQ setters
Aim for a reasonable number of questions: 4 - 5 is typical. Please don't post too many - any more than 7 gets unwieldy!
Use consecutive numbering of the DQs for your days. So, for example, if Day One is posted as questions 1-4, Day Two should start at number 5 etc.
Don't worry too much about your questions: you aren't being tested on how clever your questions are!
Hints and tips:
- Is there a quote that jumped out at you? Use that in a question.
- What about the characters - do they generate strong feelings? No feelings? - either way, we can explore that!
- What about that plot twist?!
- Explore the writing style: is there an unusual structure being used? what's the tone of voice like? or the point of view?

Each book is split into manageable chunks with each day being allocated to a different person. If you volunteer and are chosen then you pose questions for your allocated day. If you cannot do that day then a backup from the team can step-in, only those that have volunteered as back-up in the relevant thread can do this.

Writing a set of discussion questions nett's us 40 points, participitian in the discussion nett's us 20 points

Geri For some reason I can’t reply to messages. Ugh. Another goodreads glitch?

Audrey Jane - Wow. It sounds like you have lots of work! But fun too. I have done some remodeling in the past. It’s worth it in the end! And let us know what Rob Anybody is like. After you have read the book. 🙂

YAY, Louise! We get DQ points. I used to write DQs in the past. But I have gotten very lazy now. LOL I’ll participate as much as I can.

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1317 comments So I hope to finish the book I'm working on today.

I received several books for Mother's Day, plus I won one from Goodreads. So I have quite a few options to pick from!!!

I can volunteer for DQ's for Firekeeper's Daughter. I received my copy Saturday!

message 313: by Geri (new)

Geri I still can’t reply to messages. 🤷‍♀️

Carrie - Oh, what a wonderful Mother’s Day! And those books coming in. It’s a lot like Christmas! 🙂

But Mother's Day books were a great surprise. My husband and daughter always like to try and surprise me with books. They picked out one of the Blind Date with a Book they offer at BN. I was worried it would be something I had read or had but it wasn't!!

Or post a comment without html, and edit it later, then it should work.

message 320: by Yasmine (last edited May 11, 2021 01:05PM) (new)

Yasmine (swissbookworm) | 552 comments @Rina I had trouble commenting on a friend's review and then I read this and tried to comment again without "replying to the message", so that there wasn't any html and that seemed to work! Thanks for the tip, the problem isn't only with messages then, it seems to be page wide.

edit: also replying to your comment here didn't work

message 321: by Rina (new)

Rina | 726 comments Yeah, because if you click on reply, it adds html tags, so that the original message appears in italic.

message 333: by Audrey Jane (last edited May 12, 2021 07:27AM) (new)

Audrey Jane | 1815 comments If anyone is interested by our team character - here's what I gathered from the book (no spoilers) :

Rob Anybody is adorable and funny! He's the leader or 'the Big Man' of the Mac Nac Feegle clan but they call themselves the Wee Free Men because they answer to no king or queen.
They are basically a bunch of misfits that are famous for stealing, drinking, and fighting. I had to laugh when Rob said it wasn't stealing because said object wasn't nailed down.
Understandably they don't like to tell their names because it might be written down on 'official documents' like Wanted-posters or summons or bills or writs of distrainment hahaha :p
Also they don't like lawyers and their sword glow blue when there's a lawyer in the vicinity. They are tough little guys and hilarious !

I would say we are definitely living up to our team name's reputation :)

@Yasmine: Thank you :)

Thank you for the remainder Louise.

I googled the book and the result was 72071 words. But that of course is not verified information. I'm kind of swamped with work right now to find a verified source, so I'll just take the book off my tower teams shelf and you can ignore my completion post.
