Hi everyone,

We are continuing with The Phone Booth at the Edge of the World. Yui has arrived in Tsuchi, an area that suffered greatly when the tsunami happened. She continued driving through the many streets and viewed the landscape and imagined what it might have looked like before the tsunami.

She would meet Fujita-san who also was looking to find the phone booth to talk to his wife, who he had lost and raising a daughter by himself and teaching her the importance of manners because it meant so much to his beloved wife. They developed a friendship that helped share their grief, sharing memories, learning to laugh again.

Many people went to Bell Gardia to speak at the phone booth, to talk to loved ones lost in the tsunami, war, illnesses, accidents etc. Suzuki-san who was the custodian of Bell Gardia had profound thoughts about speaking with death to visitors "to some extent, we try to build our lives exactly like everyone else's, but not death," Yui noticed the strong winds at the phone booth and thought the wind was meant to possibly carry voices from the telephone to the wind to their loved ones.

I hope you are enjoying The Phone Booth at the Edge of the World. If you are reading something else, please share with us what you are reading.

Have a good day.

-Donna
