Book Club+ MPC discussion

Hi everyone,

Continuing our book selection, The Phone Booth at the Edge of the World, our main character, Yui has arrived at Bell Gardia to find the Phone Booth. She watches others as they attempt to communicate with their lost loved ones.

She meets a young man in a school uniform who traveled to the phone booth to speak to his lost mother. Yui listens to his thoughts about how important school was to his mother. Yui thought about the many children his age who lost parents who will miss out on their "first" of everything, school, wedding, job, etc.

Yui made a nice friendship with Fujita-san/Takeshi and as she headed from the garden, she thought of her daughter and thought about moving forward in life, by looking at the world divided, the living and the dead. She decided that it was okay to keep talking to loved ones who had passed.

Yui found the courage to go to the Bell Gardia. Will she continue to travel there? What will become of her next friendship with Takeshi?
