I did not communicate much on social media last night because only had fun, and was reading. Read until 4 then after finishing final book, went to sleep. Finished 5 in total, and 2 hours of another audio that was unfinished

looking forward to the next readathon is helpful, though. i'm interested in the reverse readathon, which i haven't done before!!

right?? i wish there were more frequent readathons like dewey's. i like 24in48, but there's not even a date for the next one yet :(

There's Bout of Books, it's 3 or 4 times a year. Next one is May 10th-16th.

All those readathons (there are a LOT of them) are fun but they aren't the same thing as Dewey's or 24in48. When it's longer than 48 hours it just feels different, it's not a weekend of only books and snacks.
On the other hand I think readathons like Dewey's and 24in48 are special because they're only a couple of times a year. If we were to have one each month, it wouldn't be the same thing. It's like the 24B4Monday which I love, but I'm not as committed to it as to Dewey's and 24in48 because I know next month will be another one...

I agree! I get super excited for the read-a-thons, but I'm not sure they'd be quite as exciting if they happened more often. 6 months is just long enough to really be excited for another! :)
And I agree about the longer read-a-thons. The ones that are a week or a month long aren't the same. For me it's only really a read-a-thon if I'm reading for an impressive amount of time more or less nonstop. And 24 in 48 is hard!!

nothing has the same novelty or motivates me to read as much as a short readathon!!
