Mystery/Thriller Reading Friends discussion

Our May 2021 group read book is Lucy Foley's The Guest List and I must say it has grabbed me in right away.
Are you planning to read or have you read this book? We would love to discuss it with you!

The book has the very effective chapter lineup 'by rotating character points of view" which, while highly effective, is also maddening for group discussion break points. ;)
I'll go with four segments of approximately 25% each. Since I'm listening I won't have page numbers, sorry!

I just requested it from the library. I'm number one for the CD version and number 96 for the hardcover. So I won't be able to help on chapters either....

Carol : I am enjoying the full cast narration so glad you will get the audio version. Not sure it qualifies officially as a full cast, but there are multiple narrators.

I plan to read this but probably won't start until May.

Barbara, I was going to wait but I had pushed out the Overdrive hold twice already so went ahead and started early when my turn came up again. It's good so far!

Picked up today and started it since it's on CD and Ocean Prey is hardcover so I can do both!!! ;-)

I read it in February and really liked to. Hope I remember enough for the discussions.

I just started this one yesterday. I'm listening to it on audio. I like all the different narrators for this one!

Agreed, Heather. This is one where the different narrators help with regional accents.

Yes. Heather. I thought the narrators all did a fabulous job.

This keeps pulling me in with all the different mysteries! I'm 74% completed on audio and still don't know fully what's going on in the "now" chapters. Then all these other little things you discover throughout the story - very intriguing and keep me coming back for more!

I hope I wasn't too off with my percentages. Apparently the last 5% on Scribd is a sneak peak of The Hunting Party.

Heather: My Overdrive audio did the same thing and I didn't expect the excerpt at the end. It was too late to do much about the progress percentages at that point. I am a big fan of numbered chapters. :)
