The majority of inhuman creatures originate in two sources: Fallen Angels or mortal souls. From the Fairies to Demons, they begin as angels in Heaven or the remnant of a human spirit. The majority of these creatures stem from those drowned in the Deluge of Noah, restless souls who became tied to the land they died on, becoming spirits of the wilderness, just like the Fallen Angels, who became stewards of the place they landed as Fairies. Together, these groupings make up the majority of the Seelie and Unseelie Courts, ruled over by the dwindled souls of the Egregori, or the Watchers, and the diminutive souls of their half-human offspring, the Nephilim. The Witch-Wives of the Egregori, mothers of the first Giants, became Hags, great workers of old magics after their drowning, later remembered as Faerie Queens and Pagan 'Earth Goddesses', paired with their 'Sky God husbands' who taught Antediluvian Man the Arts of Science and Sorcery. The souls of the Pre-Jannites (Jann being the direct ancestors of the Jinn, who are Pre-Adamites, ruling the world before the exaltation of Humans) reincarnate as "StarSeeds," as they vaguely remember their afterlives among the Heavens, however, not being Angel or Human, these spirits of fire, air, and water were not allowed past the Pearly Gates and existed outside of the Silver City. Djinn, made of fire, exist between Angels of light and Humans of earth, were pushed into the underground Otherworld by the expanding humans out of Africa and the Middle East. The same has been said of the Fairy Folk of the Celtic Nations, from the Daoine Sidhe of Ireland to the Moura Encantada of Galician, Asturian and Portuguese mythology. Even the Romans and Greeks write of a race of early Arcadian "man," born of tree spirits, that fled West, as the Aos Sidhe and Mouros Encantados did, following the Setting Sun. Perhaps this is why, as many Fortunate Isles and Fairylands were positioned in the Atlantic in folklore, that it is said America had more fairy folk and spirits than the East of Ireland had. As Colonization stretched across the Continent, the Monsters of America, of Native and Foreign origin, were once again driven out by the expanding settlers, where once the indigenous peoples worked in harmony with them, leaving sacred sites alone and making offerings and deals for cohabitation. However, the Spirit World is not their only home, and many still wander the streets, adapting to the changing industrialized Earth, in an age of Globalization, the USA is home to various monsters from all over, angry and hungry in this secular era, where most have forgotten them, and all the good work they have done for mankind. And when they do not get the respect they deserve, the price is paid in blood.

Rusalki (sing. rusalka)
Also known as the Lady in White and La Llorona, these spirits were of women who drowned, often by suicide, usually caused by a cheating man. They become one with the river or lake, and seek to drown unfaithful men in vengeance. They are also drawn to young children, especially the unbaptized, and pregnant women. A usual tactic is to tickle their victims to get them laughing, and, once out of breath, pull them under to drown them and add their soul to the collection of souls, damning their victims to their same watery afterlife. Some are said (like many others of their kind) to not have backs, so their insides could be seen, or lack a reflection in the water - having no immortal soul, as a pagan spirit. Like many other water spirits, they have beautiful singing voices and are greatly skilled at music. They linger on Earth for the remaining years they were meant to live, but can be put to peace during Green Week in early June, when they come out of the water to play in the woods at night and bless fields with fertility.
