Happy Reading!

Romancing Mister Bridgerton (Bridgertons, #4) by Julia Quinn
Romancing Mister Bridgerton by Julia Quinn

Everyone knows that Colin Bridgerton is the most charming man in London. Penelope Featherington has secretly adored her best friend's brother for...well, it feels like forever. After half a lifetime of watching Colin Bridgerton from afar, she thinks she knows everything about him, until she stumbles across his deepest secret...and fears she doesn't know him at all.

Colin Bridgerton is tired of being thought nothing but an empty-headed charmer, tired of everyone's preoccupation with the notorious gossip columnist Lady Whistledown, who can't seem to publish an edition without mentioning him in the first paragraph. But when Colin returns to London from a trip abroad he discovers nothing in his life is quite the same - especially Penelope Featherington! The girl haunting his dreams. But when he discovers that Penelope has secrets of her own, this elusive bachelor must decide...is she his biggest threat - or his promise of a happy ending?

Who is joining this read?

I don't think I will be as I have read it a few times. If you plan to join, will it be as a first time reader or a reread?

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 449 comments I will but as a first time reader. For a strange reason Ive just avoided reading this one. I really like Colin and I don't want to spoil that by actually reading his HEA.

I kind of get that. I enjoy the book, but opinions are varied with this one.

Missy | 1482 comments I won't be joining. I'll most likely reread the book when season 4 of Bridgerton is in the works. :)

Yea, I understand that. I will be interested in what you think.

Yes, that is when I would possibly reread also, but I am not sure if I will even then. Happy to discuss though.

Same here

message 9: by Sue (new) - rated it 2 stars

Sue | 100 comments I read this one when I was on a roll with the Bridgerton series follow the tv series. It was the Colin & Penelope storyline that I was most looking forward to reading - I was a little disappointed with the novel because I had too high expectations. The novel was OK for me 2 out 5 stars. The novel 'Sir Philip With Love' I greatly enjoyed :).

Agree Sue! Many love this one but it never worked for me. I do love Sir Philip too.

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 449 comments I read this one for the BOTM. I was disappointed. What is it with the authors who decide to give the flimsiest plot lines to their most charismatic heroes? even they need something to pull! Nothing happens through the entire book. and the repetitions of an entire chapter wasn't well done by Ms. Quinn. Colin's chauvinistic view was a little of a let down.
overall- it's vacillating between 2.75 and 3 stars

I agree Leena. Sorry it didn’t work better for you,

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 449 comments It wasn't bad. Just wanted more depth. Look at Anthony's story that was brilliant. So this one fails in comparison. That's all.

message 14: by Leena (new)

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 449 comments yes, actually I never thought about it so, but in retrospect, I do agree. it's so pat, she's so conveniently available to solve his problem of being single.

I love Benedict & Sophie along with Hyacinth & Gareth St. Clair the most. Gregory's was FAF too. But to me Hyacinth stole the cake!
