To see the Invisible Man Twilight Zone(1985 series)
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Background: The Twilight Zone(1959-1964) being such a big success, there were three attempted revivals(1985),(2002),(2019). To be honest, none of them were really close to the original series, yet there were some good episodes. Please let this count, it’s a really different series, kind of like how Doctor Who has been going on for years but the emphasis and characters have had to change over the years.
To see the Invisible man details the story of mitchell, a cold and distant man. In a dystopian America, people who are cold are sentenced to a year of ivsiblity. Ther person will be marked by a print on the head(seen above). At the beginning, Mitchell is overjoyed with this punishment, going into places he both money wise and gender wise should not be going into. However, it begins to take a toll, and it becomes clear that under no, and I mean, no, condition will anyone acknowledge him.
This episode was great because a lot of the acting was emotional. The actor playing Mitchell was superb, his shift in attitude was captured superbly. The pool scene was excellent, as the women, not allowed to acknowledge his presence but forced to cover up regardless, were shameful. A superb scene. The technology and special effects ruined it a little for me, though, a common theme in this revival as 80’s tv was an awkward stage where color was clear but animation was not. Overall, a solid episode that resonated with me.
