Bill An interesting article on Josephine Tey by CrimeReads

I have enjoyed the Alan Grant stories I've read so far and I also enjoy Nicola Upson's portrayal of Tey in her historical mystery series featuring Tey as a sleuth.

Patty | 4466 comments I have read all but #6 of the Inspector Grant series. I’ve enjoyed them all; especially The Daughter of Time which piqued my interest in Richard III.

Hitchcock adapted A Shilling for Candles for his 1937 movie Young and Innocent.

Patty | 4466 comments Tara, It’s such a different book! Poor Richard III.

Tone | 1756 comments I've read only one book by Joesephine Tey, Miss Pym Disposes, and must admit that I didn't like it much. It was dated, and I guessed who the murderer was early on. Perhaps I should give her a second chance. If so, which one would you recommend?

I liked Miss Pym Disposes (which wasn't dated at the time it was written!) but her The Franchise Affair is great.

Well, there's no accounting for taste. Thanks for the recommendation.

Storm Bay (stormbay) | 165 comments I've read five of these books before, and my favourite one is the audiobook of The Daughter of Time
