Theresa | 15574 comments Oops! Guess we will just pretend today is Tuesday! Pandemic Day/Time Confusion Syndrome is alive and well and living in my apartment. *sigh*

On the plus side, I will be happily surprised when Friday arrives a day early, LOL.

Happy Cinco de Mayo....no parade outside my window again this year. Clearly parades are still in lockdown. I might order an enchilada suiza for lunch from my favorite local Mexican restaurant just to celebrate.

Good news today: Cuomo announced Broadway can reopen starting September 14th at 100% capacity! 🎶Start spreading the news...🎶
And making those plans to come to NYC!

But the best news is coming from Anita's MLB Wellness challenge over on FB: CHARLOTTE POSTED A PHOTO WITH THEIR NEW PUPPY!

Thank you! Love the cat and the books - and I may indulge a cocktail later :-)

ETA: I'm giggling because I just noticed that the emoji's are "italized" also (i.e. tilted a little)

Doughgirl5562 | 960 comments Yay - Happy for all of those who put on and attend Broadway performances! Virtual plays were nice - but will never be the same as being there in person.

Our MN Governor is set to announce further easing of COVID restrictions - probably today.

I put my fully vaccinated status to the test last weekend with a visit to my family in Iowa. My immediate family is fully vaxed also - including my 20-something nieces - but beyond that I had no idea who was or wasn't vaxed. -- and mask use is mostly optional in Iowa. Went to a packed restaurant Friday night (not my idea) - and an inside wedding shower with about twenty people on Saturday. It was very good to see my family after a year and FINALLY meet my sweetheart of a grand-nephew who was born last May (so he's almost a year old).

The real test is going to come in June with my cousin's wedding. About two hundred people are invited.

Italicized emojis...who knew? So funny!

Birthdays should include things you love in the celebrations...like kitties and books! If there had been some kind of needlework emoji or a kilt or bagpipe available on my keyboard, those would have been there too. I settled for a shooting star to wish upon....

That will be so weird when I am around that many people at once for the first time! I can't imagine. I am an extrovert and I still find myself a little exhausted from socializing after so much time not doing it!

And you got to do this on Doughgirl's birthday! Plus (mostly) avoid the may the 4th be with you stuff.

Karin | 9236 comments As of today, everyone in my house has had their first covid jab. Next week we start round two.

My son had his employment physical and strength test. You can tell he's still 20, since he opted to take no breaks in one test where he was told he could. It sounds like he passed it, since he did the entire thing, but he has to wait and here.

My daughter sold all of her model magic people! But, to be fair, she underpriced them (she figured as a beginner she'd only charge $2 each, but realizes she should/could have charged more). But, as she said, she applied for this to fulfill a class requirement. She has three other sculptures in there, so hopefully they'll sell so she doesn't have to go back.

She also may have a job, but I"ll wait until things are finalized.

ETA: never mind I found it

You can thank my eldest piano student, who is a huge Star Wars fan as well as a pun lover (wants to be a pilot, but in the meantime does ballet but does landscaping--he is quite the impressive teen and it's a pleasure teaching him).

Karin | 9236 comments My graduating sculpture major was reached by a recruiter for a major American jewellery (okay, they're American so jewelry), etc company for an entry level position--if she passes the background check she has a job (did the interview, walk through, etc! I won't way where until she gets the job.

She has no background but has made moulds/molds, so would start with that as at temp (to perm if she likes it and they like her). However, they also offer classes in jewellery making; she's never really been into jewellery, but if all goes well, she wants to take those classes.

She's not into jewellery, but has the mould making skills from her art degree, and that's her foot in the door if all goes well. And it's closer than her almost- former university, so that's a plus.

Robin P | 5765 comments Good news - I just got a blurb from PBS that the series Sanditon will return, in fact for 2 more seasons! I would have thought it would have wrapped up in one, I hope they don't stray too far afield. But I was crushed with the way Season 1 ended with no plan for Season 2.
