I'm about 70 percent done and a little bored; it has a lot of tropes/cliches.

I'm 50 odd pages in and a little bored as well. Will give it a little more but may be a dnf for me. nothing is standing out atvthe start as interesting about the whole thing. The shock factor for the executions is just a bit neh

I'm finishing for the energy cell; not sure I'd have stayed with it otherwise.

Yeah I gave up. just not grabbing me at all and I've loads of books I want to get to so have moved on. Not sure what put me off continuing but just felt a but of work pushing on with the book

haha I picked it up for the energy cell too. It's not a book I've been interested in as I don't tend to like junkyard post apocalyptic settings but I'm 60% in now and actually really enjoying it. I'm finding it pretty fast paced and easy to read. Maybe because I've read a few chunky epic fantasys lately I'm enjoying reading something alot different. I like the characters too, they all seem pretty distinct from each other.

I really don't like all the made up slang in it though. Especially at the start there was alot of it although it seems to have slackened off a bit now.

I finished this morning. The last 15-20 percent was pretty good.

...proceeds to Hayley's "read list" to find said chunky epic novels...

Amy | 410 comments I enjoyed it. Easy, fun and action packed read.

Although the main plot lines were pretty predictable, for some reasons I didn't think about the consequences of what the final revelation would mean. Made me wonder if we ever have 'free will' over matters of the heart. Have put the sequel on my TRB list just to see where Eve's plotline goes now.

Agree with Hayley about the slang. It was not 'fizzy'.

I’m the same as everyone else, not a great book for me but easy enough to read. The characters were kind of predictable and the plot twists not very twisty. I’d be interested in knowing what happens with Eve and her situation but not enough to read the rest of the series, more quizzing someone else that has read it. Amy, you’ll have to let me know if you get round to it.

I listened to the audio. I thought they were saying "busy," not "fizzy."

I read this in 2018 and remember liking it well enough to do a re-read for the energy cell but I feel like it's a chore to get into it this time round. I better hurry though because my library due date is in 4 days. Not fizzy.

I just read through this and it was pretty interesting but nothing extraordinary. I did not really figure out the twist at the end before it happened so that was nice. I might continue on with the series, not really sure though
