Karyn (onlykaryn) | 9 comments Its an interesting way to look at life.

Terrie | 134 comments Read it a while back. I can't wait to jump into the discussions.

Lydia Nefedov (lydia_lovesthelibrary) | 3 comments I finished this book last month and i really like it! I often think about how things would be different if I had made a different choice on something small or big!

If you like this type of read I also just finished The Nine Lives of Rose Napolitano which was a great great book! I really found a lot of parallels with that book as a working mother.

Keith Having had to slog through some of the other monthly reads (particularly "The Night Circus" (sorry if you loved it)), this is the finest novel I've read in a while. Though the echo of "It's a Wonderful Life" resonates throughout, this is different enough to very much stand on it's own.

I read this in 3 days and probably could have actually done it in a single sitting. I don't however regret not having done so, at least in this universe.

Having trouble putting this down - may read it in one shot today :)

Rebecca | 3 comments Hard skipping as reading reviews I found this starts out with a slow burn suicide and this is setting off alarm bells for my own issues. I enjoy the what if narrative thread but can't take in media with that as a mechanism. Same reason I've never seen it's a Wonderful Life because of it.

message 29: by Luiza (new)

Luiza | 9 comments reading this and it was not what i expected! Im really enjoying up until this point (maybe 12%of it??). Looking forward to finishing it!

my problem with this book is that it has a lot of plotlines but the author is allowed to leave those plots unfinished since that's the whole point of the midnight library. I don't care about any of the plots because obviously they're not the point of the story. so it's kind of boring to follow them. i feel like this is not a book with a story. it's a book with a certain message and I think I already got the message!

I agree! At first I tought it was kind of like a modern poetry idk lol

I am a little more than half-way into the book, the unfinished plotlines are fine by me... I'm just kind hoping that the ending doesn't turn out to be the cliché I'm starting to feel it will be...

I just finished the audiobook and sadly this book wasn't for me. it felt like a bunch of inspirational quotes and honestly, if I wasn't listening to the audiobook, I would have dnfed it long ago.

Aziza | 1 comments Just finished the book and I loved it! I'm sure that it's going to be one of those books that I reread every once in awhile.

message 35: by Sue (new) - added it

Sue Butler | 50 comments I'm about a fifth of the way through and I've not picked it up for 2 weeks. It's an easy read but I'm not inspired to pick it up. I will probably finish it but certainly not this month

Utkarsha (_flow_of_words_) This book is in my tbr. Is this not a good book to read?

Linda | 547 comments Done and done. First time I've finished a read on time. 👍As for the book, I think it should have come with a trigger warning. The first part really brought up some bad stuff. First time I've read this author's work, only now I find out he suffers from depression. Really too close to home for me. But, the book had some interesting nuggets of truth and things to ponder. I would give it a 5 star, for those who don't have depression. For those that do, be warned it's rough and it includes suicide. Had I known, I probably wouldn't have read it. It was hard to get through the first part of the book for the material it discussed.

Leslie Just finished the book! It's really good, but kinda long. I'm not much into philosophy but i feel like trying something different doesnt hurt. I would recommend this to anyone who likes philosophy or is interested in life in general.

Vanathi Santhuru (lifeaftersavannah) | 4 comments Finished it right on time! I really enjoyed this book. There were a of philosophical ideas in here that resonated with my current state - lost and wondering about my past actions. Easy read and a good moral story. There wasn’t really a plot and I wasn’t invested in any of the characters, even Nora and the multiple lives she had. After the second or third life, I thought of the resemblance to Alchemist and was starting to lose interest because the ending was predictable. I really a good book.

Joy D | 1208 comments I am almost finished with this book and very much enjoying it.
