Group Read Every month, our group votes on and reads a book together. You don't have to read the book, but we would love it if you did! Our June theme is Mind and our group read for this month is The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. This book was nominated by Valerie as a library is a beautiful place to expand the horizons of your mind. Feel free to join the discussion or post your review of the book! You can also vote for our July book with the theme of Treasure as well as nominate a book for August with the theme of Soul!
Challenges The group has fifteen 2021 yearly challenges and there’s still plenty of time to join one or more of them!
June is the last month for the quarterly challenges, both based on our quarterly theme of “Diversity Makes Us Better”. For Who Runs the World? you will read either books by transgender or non-binary authors, or you can choose to read books by women set in unique locations around the world. This challenge is led by Diane. You can also opt for A Diverse Education, to read books related to diversity to earn credits for an academic degree. This challenge is led by its creator, Regina.
We also have two brand new challenges for you, both linked to the monthly theme of Mind! In It’s all in the Mind we have ten prompts based on idioms with the word Mind. This challenge was suggested and will be led by Carmen. The second challenge this month, Brain Power led by Sunny, focusses on the many functions of the brain.
Do you have a great idea for a new challenge? Please let us know! Most of our quarterly and monthly challenges grow out of our members’ suggestions. We love hearing your creative ideas.
