This month I read…
The Switch by Beth O’Leary- This was a nice, cute, and cheesy read, just how I like them. I must admit I wish Eileen was my Grandma, haha. The whole cast of characters, not just the main two, were super fun as a whole though. I definitely got more invested in them then I normally do when reading a quick cheesy read. I would be more likely to recommend this than most of the other cheesy reads I have read too.
A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik- This was more fun than I expected. I listened on audiobook and it kept me thoroughly entertained. I loved the world this was set in and liked the main character way more than I thought I would. I’m super interested in seeing where this series goes from here, so stay tuned for those reviews.
Riding Lessons by Sara Gruen- I listened to this on audiobook as well. I loved Water for Elephants and haven’t read any other Sara Gruen yet so I was excited for this one. Unfortunately it disappointed big time. It could have been a good book if the narrator/main character wasn’t such an awful and annoying person. I just could not get past her awfulness and her complaints about problems she brought upon herself.
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo- The second fun fantasy I was able to dive into this month. I grabbed this one after the Netflix adaptation caught my interest. I always have to read the book before I watch a show/movie adaptation. This does fall into the special girl who doesn’t know she's special and has a love triangle with the new intriguing boy and boy she's known forever YA Fantasy category, but I’m not minding as much with one. I’m finding some books in this category annoy me, but others I can get past it.
What did you read this month? Be sure to share down below!
Happy Reading!
