Hero ran to the West Lake, sword sheathed at her side. She hoped Markus was following her, that he hadn't gotten lost.
"Oh, thank god. I thought you'd fallen or something," Hero grinned at him. "So, what'd you manage to get? I grabbed one of the swords, a food pack, and I grabbed you a knife if you need it."
"Well..." Hero looked around. The two statues were unnerving her. "What do you think those are?" She asked, pointing at them.
"Yeah, that's true." Hero walked closer to the edge of the lake. She put her hand on the ice and pressed down. "Seems thick enough to walk on," She noted.
Hero tentatively put a foot on the ice, slowly shifting her weight. "Okay..." She took another step, and a few more. "Easy enough." She turned around and looked at Markus. "Come on! There might be something cool on the other si- AH!" Her feet slipped out from under her, and she landed hard on the ice. It didn't crack, but she could feel it creaking under her. "But, uh... be careful."
"Nope. Nope. All good." She mumbled as she clumsily stood up, barely avoiding another fall. "Just gotta make it to the other side."
Hero nodded. She kept walking, seeming to have regained her balance, and made it to the other side. "So, where to now?" She asked Markus. There was more forest on the other side, and the two statues were there too.
"Hm. Guess we just keep going, then!" Hero grinned at him, and then started forward towards whatever was beyond the lake.
(Hunter? Today's our last day before they both die of inactivity. Should we go to the Evergreen Forest?)
another icy lake, also saltwater (tributes will be able to eat snow, plus there's water at the cornucopia). This lake is guarded by two ice guardians for lack of better word, stationed near the lake. There are actual fish in this lake, and edible, too, but the ice is thick and only tributes who are skilled in this area can break the ice. Obviously, there's a catch. If you break the ice using too much noise, such as sheer force, you'll risk disrupting the ice guardians. And if you disrupt them, they'll kill you without hesitation. So...yeah. Pick your poison.
