The Hunger Games discussion

Prim knew that if she ran as far away from the cornucopia as she could without stopping, she would be as safe as she could be. Which really wasn't that safe, but it's something. All she needed was to climb one of the trees, but unfortunately, she couldn't see much. Actually, she had almost run into a few of them. But after spotting a tree with multiply branches she began to climb it. She slipped a few times, her hands cold to the touch. She shivered, her breaths coming out in huffs and she was able to see them. Prim shook her head, almost slipping again. But she was able to catch herself. After about ten minutes of climbing the tree, she was able to reach the top. The canopy of the trees was enough to let her be able to get some good thinking done. She hung her backpack onto one of the small branches. She sighed and rested her head on the cold bark of the tree. "I made it," She said quietly.

He wanted to reach her as quickly as possible. The two of them were allies, and he was sure that they'd be pretty good ones in the arena. They were definitely still at a disadvantage, but that was a minor concern of his at the moment. His main concern was finding Prim and surviving the first day.
Already five tributes had died in a bloodbath at the cornucopia, and he didn't want Prim and himself to be included in the death tally.
Prim watched as more tributes ran into the pine forest. She had hoped that she would be the only one, but that obviously hadnt worked out. She looked down and seen Alren. She quickly let out a breath and slowly climbed down the tree. "Follow me," she whispered.

((I know. I had to do something real quick. Sorry bout that))
Asora stared at Clark. "You're just going to sit there?" she asked. "Am I supposed to do all the gathering?" She crossed her arms. "How do you expect me to be able to get roots?"

Alren followed Prim, not knowing where she was taking them, but trusting her completely. He knew that trusting tributes was sometimes the thing that got you killed, but he trusted the young girl. He followed her blindly, keeping two daggers in each of his hands.
Prim slowlt recimbed the tree. Her hands were icy cold, but she ignored the pain in them. "Up here," she whispered, making it back up to where she had been before.
Clark held his knife and chucked it into the tree next to her. “Yes. You are stronger than me.” He turned back to what he was doing and set up a game trap, then sat it out.

"
Alren carefully climbed the tree, trying to ignore how freezing the bark and air was. He hadn't expected the arena to be this cold, but that was the unpredictability of the Games. He made it to the top not long after.
"Did you get anything?" She asked, her breaths were short and the air made them visible. She was still cold even tjough she had layers upon layers of warm clothing on.

Asora raised an eyebrow. She turned away, rolling her eyes. She looked around for the supplies Clark had asked for, hoping she wouldn't be ambushed or killed in the process. I don't even have a weapon, Asora thought. And even if I did, it isn't like I could use it.
Luckily, she was able to find everything fairly quickly. She returned to Clark, her arms full of roots and branches. She dropped them in front of him. "Anything else?" she asked, trying to keep annoyance from her voice. As it was, her tone ended up sounding lightly irritated, but she tried to mollify it. She didn't want to come across as rude and annoying.

"From the cornucopia?" Alren asked. "I got two daggers, then hightailed it out of there. I wasn't about to stay and get myself killed. What about you?"
"I was able to crawl under some tributes to get some stuff." She pulled her small backpack over. "I have two daggers, small coile of rope, a handful of matches, and two of the food rations." Prim said quietly, handing himel the backpack.

After descending the mountain topped with the Cornucopia, Kitt made his way into the pine forest with his allies. It was rather chilly and Kitt realised to some dismay that he and his allies were rather unprepared for the weather in this sector of the arena. At least we have food and weapons, he thought, looking around through the dense, misty fog surrounding him and his allies.

"That's quite an impressive stash," Alren said. "Good job, Prim. This food won't last long, but we'll figure it out. Do you think any more tributes will be killed today?"
Prim shrugged, "I don't know, but if we stay up here, I think we should be fibe for awhile," prim said quietly. She formed a ball with her body, makin sure that her hands were covered.

Prim nodded, "Sounds fun," she said quietly. Not really paying much attention. Her body was sore from all the running she had done, her body was also very sore and all the little girl wanted to do was sleep.

Prim didnt respond, already alseep. Her breaths were thin huffs of air, but she was still able to sleep theough the cold.

Crofton shivered silently in the cold, tensing as he heard voices up ahead. He motioned to his allies to be quiet, and listened for a moment, trying to discern who’s voices those were. He could hear - what was his name, Alren? - speaking to someone in the distance, probably Prim. They’d allied in the training days, hadn’t they? Still, it was too far away for him to see them, with the fog. A different pair of voices was coming from a bit closer. Clark, the boy who’d been making the traps, and the girl from district three. Asora. He couldn’t see them, but he didn’t want to start something now. The games had only been going for less than an hour.

((Thx! I'll be on a bit just not very much))
As he listened to the forest around him, Kitt also heard the numerous voices and looked at Crofton, seeing that he could hear them as well. Then he looked between his allies with a questioning expression, one that asked, Should we follow the voices? See if we can try and take out a couple more tributes?

((by the way, the forest is huge so in the future, it's unlikely that tributes will run into each other very often unless they're close by. I'm also working on another forest topic so yeah))

Kitt started to go after Vincent, but looked back with a quiet sigh and a frown when he saw Crofton. Seriously? he mouthed, looking between his two allies, who had very different opinions on the matter. He wanted desperately to follow Vincent, but they couldn't just leave their ally behind, could they? Hold on, he thought, his frown deepening. Since when did I give a f*ck about leaving our weakest, most argumentative ally behind? It doesn't matter what he thinks...

She ran with Clark, not daring to look back. That would just slow them down.
Similar to it next to it, then grabbed Asora’s arm and started running again. He started twitching, his right eyelid spasming. He growled and continued to rub until they were far from the other tributes. He settled down in a small hollow, letting go of Asora.

She sat on the ground, worn out from running. She hadn't run that fast, that far in a long time, if ever. Her breaths were rapid, as was her heartbeat.

She knew she wasn't the optimal ally, and around Clark, she felt somewhat useless.

((Idrc tbh, Ayla? Also I'm gonna wait for Ayla to post before I post again))
