Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora kept working with her token, thinking of ways she could put the pieces to good use.

Clark stirred, flipping over so he was facing her.

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora noticed Clark move. She glanced at him, then went back to her token.

message 304: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark woke up a little, putting his arms around her and burring his face in her belly in his half-asleep state.

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora suppressed a laugh, but couldn't help smiling at Clark. She fiddled with her token some more, a smile on her face.

message 306: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark fell back asleep, still holding her close.

message 307: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora fidgeted with her token, until there was nothing left but the clock face. She smiled at how much she had been able to accomplish.

message 308: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark nuzzled against her in his sleep, his hands tightening and gripping her shirt.

message 309: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora's eyes widened as Clark gripped her shirt. She stared at him, confused by the sudden shift in his demeanor, asleep or not.

message 310: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark suddenly held tighter, whimpering in his sleep. He was having a dream, which was turning into a nightmare. He whispered a soft “No.”

message 311: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora gently shook Clark. "Wake up," she said, keeping her voice soft and gentle.

message 312: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark held a little tighter, then jolted awake, his hands clenching her shirt. “I-I…” He let go and moved away. “I’m sorry. I don’t know… what….”

ѕнєяℓσ¢к ♡ (mushroomlad) ((

Asora and Clark are so adorable my goddddd))

message 314: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora shook her head. "It's okay," she said. "Don't worry about it." She pursed her lips. "Another nightmare?"

message 315: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark nodded and curled up, hugging his knees.

message 316: by Alexandria (last edited Jun 30, 2021 06:00AM) (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora focused her attention on Clark, watching him cautiously. "Are you okay?" she asked.

message 317: by [deleted user] (new)

He shook his head. “No.” He started crying quietly.

message 318: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora's eyes widened. "It's okay," she said. She moved closer to him, placing an arm around him. "Do you want to talk about it?"

message 319: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark shook his head, leaning against her a little.

message 320: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora held him, trying to comfort him. "Nightmares are so unfair," she said. "They're one of the worst things about being human."

message 321: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark continues to cry, not responding except for occasional nods. He eventually leaned against her, still crying despite the freezing weather.

message 322: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments "It'll be all right," Asora said, her voice soft. Then she realized. I'm so stupid.

Of course everything wouldn't be okay. Only one of the tributes was going to make it out of the arena alive, and Clark had already said it wasn't going to be him. He had a family and a district who shunned him. Nothing about his life was alright, and here she was attempting to comfort him with lies.

message 323: by [deleted user] (new)

Her words comforted. He shut out the part of him that told him it was lies and hugged her. His soft crying started to subside.

message 324: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora hugged Clark. He had seemed to calm down a bit. She was glad. She hated seeing others upset or crying. It broke her heart. She knew that Clark was sensitive, but she didn't expect to see him so.....vulnerable.

message 325: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark forced himself back to calm, still letting her hold him. He sat back up, wiping his nose.

message 326: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments "Are you all right?" Asora asked, still holding him.

message 327: by [deleted user] (new)

“Yeah.” He put a few sticks on the fire and settled back down.

message 328: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments "We don't have to go to the cornucopia tonight if you aren't up for it," Asora said. "We could always go tomorrow."

message 329: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark nodded. “Yeah.”

message 330: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments "So what do you want to do?" Asora asked.

message 331: by [deleted user] (new)

“I don’t know.” He whispered. “You choose.”

message 332: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora shook her head. "I don't feel comfortable doing that," she said. "If you can't do it, we won't do it. Simple as that."

message 333: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark nodded slowly. “Ok.”

message 334: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments "So what do you want to do?" Asora asked.

message 335: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark shrugged. “Bide our time as much as we can, set traps everywhere, and hope they kill someone.”

message 336: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora nodded. "Sounds good," she said. "Where are you going to set them?"

message 337: by [deleted user] (new)

He shrugged. “Where I can.”

message 338: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora nodded. "Here's hoping they eliminate some of the tributes," she said. "That way the playing field is a lot smaller."

message 339: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark grunted, leaning back into her.

message 340: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora pursed her lips. "Do you ever miss your life?" she asked. "Like, the one from before you got stung?"

message 341: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark shrugged. “I don’t know. I don’t really remember it enough to miss it.”

message 342: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments "You don't remember how your family was before?" she asked. "None of it?"

message 343: by [deleted user] (new)

He shook his head. “Nope. Those bees jacked me up. Bad.”

message 344: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments "That must stink," Asora said. "Having little to no memory of a life before."

message 345: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark nodded, putting his head in his hands. “Yeah.”

message 346: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora changed the subject. "Anyway, back to trying to survive," she said. "How many traps are going to be set out?"

message 347: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark shrugged. “A lot. Can you find me sticks? Big ones?”

message 348: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora stood, shrugging. "Sure," she said. She searched for large sticks, coming back not too long after. She set them beside Clark. It was a bunch of about thirty. "Is this enough?" she asked.

message 349: by [deleted user] (new)

Clark shrugged. “Yeah.” He stood and started making a large trap by the fire.

message 350: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria K (percabethprincess8729) | 333 comments Asora sat back, watching Clark work. Unfortunately, she could barely understand what he was doing.
