Welcome to the supermarket sweep! I am your lovely host, Alaina.

Just like the game show, we will have two games within this challenge. Each game will have three segments: the question round, the big sweep, and the bonus sweep.

Participants will be split into 6 teams evenly. That means 3 teams to a game. The game will last for the entire month of July. On Sunday, June 27th, teams will find out who they are competing against and what game they will be playing.

Each team will get a spreadsheet as well. If you would like to nominate a captain/co-captain, please let me know.

The Question Round:


For the question round, every Sunday I will post 10 random questions. Each question will be about products in a grocery store. They can range from a tiny part of a picture to a scrambled phrase. It will all depend on how evil/generous I'm feeling.

Once you have figured them out, a member on the team will PM me the answers. For each correct guess, you will get 10 bonus points. You will have until July 31st to answer all the questions as well. There are no penalties for guessing incorrectly either.

The Big Sweep:


For the big sweep, you will hypothetically be running throughout the supermarket and grabbing products from the shelves. The goal is to make the most money during this. Each product will have a task assigned to it and you will need to complete this before putting it in your cart.

There will be a fivethree-item limit for this though. Which means only 5 3 people from the same team can read for the same product/task. Or 5 3 books in general can work for the same product/task.

For example,

Player 1 reads for Corn - Book with a yellow cover (75%)
Player 2 reads for Corn - Book with a yellow cover (75%)
Player 3 reads for Corn - Book with a yellow cover (75%)
Player 4 reads for Corn - Book with a yellow cover (75%)
Player 5 reads for Corn - Book with a yellow cover (75%)

That means Player 6 4 can't use for the Corn task and will have to see if it fits somewhere else.

You can also move around books to fit other products if the book you are reading only fits something that has been completed by 5 3 people/books.

This round will also have hidden bonuses. They will be revealed on your team's spreadsheet randomly throughout the challenge.

The Bonus Sweep:


The bonus sweep will have each team finding 3 particular products in the store. Each team will be given a clue that will take them to their first item. Once they find it, the task will be revealed. After completing, they will be given another clue to their next item. This will continue until they have completed their third and final task.

For the bonus sweep, at least two people on the team need to complete the task for the particular item. This will also be available for the entire month of the challenge.

Points:
At the end of the month, the points for completed products and tasks in the big sweep will be decided randomly with a wheel-decide. This wheel will range from 1 to 99 points and will be spun per finished product. Here is the Wheel Decide.

The bonus sweep will also have its own wheel-decide with points that will range from 100-199 points. This will ONLY be spun if the team has found all 3 products and completed them. Here is the Wheel Decide.

This will be a team reading challenge, which will run from July 1st to July 31st. Winners will be announced on August 1st.

Teams will be split as evenly as possible. If you would like to be on the same team with anyone, please comment with who when signing up. Please make sure that they also sign up.

When signing up, please mention the number of books you plan on reading for the month of July. These numbers will be easier for me to make teams match up evenly.

For example,

Alaina - 50 books
Felicia - 10 books
Andy - 20 books
Aly - 50 books
Jennifer - 25 books

** You will not be penalized if you go over or under your number.**

1 - 50 pages → 0.25 pts (will only count for page points)
51 - 99 pages → 0.5 pts (will only count for page points)
100 - 149 pages → 1 pt
150 - 249 pages → 2 pts
250 - 349 pages → 3 pts
350 - 449 pages → 4 pts
450 - 549 pages → 5 pts
550 - 649 pages → 6 pts
650 - 749 pages → 7 pts
750 - 849 pages → 8 pts
850 - 949 pages → 9 pts
950+ pages → 10 pts

Buddy Reads will DOUBLE your points.
BOTM will TRIPLE your points.
