Aera Schreave isn't someone shows up very much at parties and balls though she always does make an appearance, disappearing before someone could catch her and make her stay. She's quite charismatic whe the cameras are on, but does not hesitate to be the rude and reckless bitch she is when they’re not. She stays away from her family usually as much as possible though she will “grudgingly” do something nice for them occasionally. She’s always angry, incredibly reckless, and sadistic. By sadistic, I meant that she’s very good at seeing your weakness and will use it against you cruelly if you hurt her, relishing in seeing the way it hurts you. She’s also very Machiavellian when it comes to beating up those who she believes deserves it; When the Northern Rebels come across someone they deem as truly irredeemable or horrible, they send them to her and let her get out some anger. Because of her childhood, she has felt for an extremely long time that nobody cares about her, causing her to build up thick armor anger around herself. She feels very strongly about subjects concerning abuse ESPECIALLY about her family, and it causes a whole meltdown or 4 when something happens to them that she couldn't prevent or didn't know about, and in that time, she is even more fragile them usual. She hates showing weakness because of the fact that she feels like she’ll tip over if you tap her too hard, and also reacts with churning rage to some things as a defense mechanism. Even with her especially big anger towards her family, she will protect her them if not because of anything else, because blood is blood and though it doesn't always seem like it, blood is much thicker than water.
She was always quiet kid around family (all people when she was younger) but rather quiet in the kind sort of way, though currently its more of the tense sort of quiet, always leaving to be alone or go meet her friends in the Northern Rebels.
As a young girl she still liked to be around people even though she didn't really like to be the center of attention, but now she just avoids them at all times, just so done with humanity at this point. She spends the most time with her friends in the Northern Rebels and even though they still work side-by-side with the Schreaves to make the country better, she knows that her family would hate it if she was actively involved with them which is why she initially joined, but now her motives and intentions are clear and honest in making sure that the conflicts and problems accidentally or purposefully overlooked by the royal family were dealt with. And now, that's how she escapes from being a pawn in her own eyes, the middle child and inevitably given over to a suitor from another country as a way to seal a business treaty.

History; Aera as a small girl was very loving however quiet she was, and one of the most naive people, kept safe inside of the palace walls. She was sent to a school that went from kindergarten to 12th grade, taken advantage of by people in her own grade who were convinced by their parents to use her to do whatever they wanted her to do, then by those older than her, and not once did she speak out about it because she was told that it was how all friendships worked, until one day she did (7th grade)when talking to one of her other siblings and realizing that it was in fact not normal. Let it just be said, she never did it again and one of the older girls taught her how to do makeup. ((Trigger warning!!!))(view spoiler)[They almost drowned her multiple times, hit her, and forced her to stay in a locker for hours, a hand over her mouth as she desperately tried to stay quiet because of the threats they made. (hide spoiler)] "Fight back." She always hears people say whenever they hear about bullying, assault, or something of the like. Be realistic. How is a small girl gaslighted to believe that she was being a bad friend and therefore a horrible person by not giving them whatever they wanted, supposed to fight a group of kids and their older siblings who were taught in the ways of fighting way more than her? Exactly, she's not supposed to. Because she was sheltered and not taught to fight as no one would ever think that someone would dare to put their hands on her, someone shielded by her title. Title doesn't mean anything to the power-hungry and the children raised by them to become them. This went on for a long time until she couldn't deal with it any longer and snuck out, meeting a group of kids who she was initially scared of for they wore bruises and not bedazzled dresses, and they held knives, not exquisite dolls. Because they were survivors in the streets who had joined the Northern rebels to survive. How could they be like her, a privileged princess who felt that she was trapped in a place where she couldn't talk to her constantly busy older brothers and baby sisters not even able to speak yet? But somehow, they were, and after their initial fear of her and her initial fear of them, they grew close, the only people Aera trusted enough to tell. Story short, those kids never bothered her again, and she joined the Northern Rebels, years of severe bottling up let out into her growing anger and hatred, now used to pummel those the Northern Rebellion lets her into pulps on the ground, licking. the blood off of her fists because it felt good to finally have power against those who'd dare raise their hands against her.

Raised next to toddler Aera for as long as they both could remember, Lexie is very protective of her and will defend her fiercely, but otherwise, he's basically a glorified grumpy old man living in a bull’s powerful body (and I would die for him). Though he loves Aera as much as she adores him, he can and will let her know when she's being especially stupid by the magical messaging system of a growl and a death stare that says "Stop that and go apologize. I'm too tired for this you angry demon spawn." All in all, just don't touch him and you'll keep all 206 of those flimsy bones of yours intact :). He's also very picky and spoiled when it comes to his food, so love you Aera, but he will not go with you to that part of town where he will not get his premium bougie food. Is often used as an ultimatum by Aera as she regularly threatens her siblings that she will leave him in their room’s to do with them how he pleases, and as tired as he his, he’s Aera’s counterpart for a reason; he loves destruction.

Of course, this does not mean the boy doesn't have any tact. he makes sure he understands the situation and only says what's called for. he's especially cautious around the queen and king. he always refers to them as 'his majesty' and 'her majesty', mainly out of what seems to be spite. even so, he doesn't wear his hatred on his face. instead, it really seems like he's rather indifferent to them. almost like a stranger, just another person in the kingdom rather than their children. he does the same with the crown prince. there really is no difference in the way he talks to the prince or their father. he talks to them when needed for his work, he doesn't refer to them as family. The only ones that seem to be exempt from his cold nature are his twin, and perhaps Aera. He's close to his twin and often talks to him, as well as listens to him. With Aera, they aren't close, but he seems a tad gentler when it comes to her. It almost seems like he wants to talk to her but he doesn't exactly know how to. despite how cold he acts toward his siblings and parents, he's actually quite merciful towards the servants. if they mess up, he easily forgives them and only gives small punishments. (if they spilled tea, they'd have to clean it up by themselves. stuff like that.) he's not forgiving toward spies, assassins, or anyone who would assault children though. they are not his people. on the topic of children, the male actually seems actually like children, but like with aera, he's not entirely sure how to approach them. he often spends his time in the training area for knights, and when he's not training or working, he's there to help out. he's in charge of punishing the knights if the occasion occurs, as well as overseeing things as a member of the royal family. he seems to let his guard some when he's around the other knights, even if he isn't exactly trusting or anything like that. he's not the social type, but that doesn't mean he's a wallflower at social events. he doesn't interact needlessly, but he does socialize a bit. he does complain about how it's nothing but a headache though. basically, he's mean, but he's not a total dick. he doesn't like being touched as well, it seems to trigger him. if he touches anyone, it has to be him to do it after mentally prepping himself, not someone else. In fact, if they just put on a skirt and wig, they could probably pass as a girl. because of this, they weren't exactly the most sought off person, so they are definitely dealing with low self esteem and maybe a bit of an identity crisis. They are pretty submissive for the most part as well. They are extremely patient and while awkward and anxious at times, are usually pretty calm and friendly. They aren't one to hold a grudge or get angry. You could probably stab them in the back and they'd get over it. Though, while they may not hold grudges against those people and often tries to make excuses, they distance themselves from them and find themselves closing off their emotions. he tries to be as cooperative as possible as well, which makes him a bit of a pushover sometimes. he does know when to stand his ground though, it just takes a bit to push him to that point. It's likely easier to make the child cry rather than actually anger him though. If anything, the thing that triggers his anger the most is himself. though, that may just because he doesn't really have anything other than himself to protect, no one to get angry for. it seems as though this child might be getting close to a breaking point though. the male isn't exactly the most friendly person there is. the child is extremely mischievous. he's extremely cocky and impertinent. he often says rude things. maybe this is why he doesn't have friends, or maybe he's like that so he can't have friends. he's not particularly close to anyone for a reason. he finds it hard to be around others, believing that at some point they all might leave him. because of this, he's developed a bit of a complex and refuses to properly open up to anyone. despite his attitude, he's pretty competitive as well as skilled. just, not really in the things that his parents want him to be skilled in.

this child seems to hate showing weakness, as it makes him vulnerable. so he guards himself and his heart closely, which might be why he tries to appear confident and mean. he often spends his time playing video games, skateboarding, or swimming. despite them being his hobbies and being quite skilled in all three, he doesn't seem to actually be having fun in any of them. he doesn't have many challenges, or well, friends to experience any of his hobbies in.

the male, even after growing close to someone, often finds himself teasing others. he also does small things, posing them as pranks (such as intervening with a friend's flirting and preventing them from getting the girl), out of fear that he might be left behind again. while it seems to fit his mischievous personality, naturally, it has also become a bit of a defense mechanism. if he actually grows close to someone, he doesn't want to be left again. whether it be for a girl or for new friends. the male can be pretty possessive and can be a bit upset when promises are broken. even if they are small promises if they would break those, whose saying they won't leave him? he may appear aloof, uncaring, and a bit of a jerk, but he's just a kid still. he just doesn't want to be left alone again.

he's cheeky for sure, but he definitely has soft spot for animals. of course, he won't show this in front of others. a lot of animals like him as well, and he definitely has a lean toward cat-like creatures. heck, his favorite hoodie has a cat tail attached t it, as well as cat ears.

cheng is incredibly athletic and if he put the work into it, he could probably be good in a lot of sports and activities. however, he doesn't seem to want to learn swordsmanship like his parents want him to. in fact, he seems pretty appalled by it. despite being a prince of the country, blood makes him queasy and he can't stand it, which might be why he doesn't want to learn swordsmanship.

cheng li was born as one of the princes of new asia, and despite the previous wars, was in a rather favorable position. after all, he was basically born with a golden spoon in his mouth. he wouldn't have to worry about starving or going without want. despite this, at first, he just like any other kids. sure, he had responsibility, but he just wanted to play around and make friends. at first, he didn't really have any, but he soon made some with some of the other higher castes. it was fun at first, however, they eventually drifted apart. he found out that they were actually hired children to try to persuade the child to follow his studies. he found out after overhearing them talk about him. 'if it weren't for the king paying our parents to do this, i wouldn't even hang out with him.' naturally, after being betrayed like this, he stopped talking to them. he had been friends with them for years and talked to them about everything, only to find out they were being paid to stay friends with him. he started to close himself off after this, but he didn't completely close himself off until one of the knights he looked up to and was close to had died. he slowly began to become like he is now, and it soon became too troublesome for his parents. to show good faith between the two counties, upon hearing about it, the monarchs of Illea and his parents made a deal to send him and one of their princesses to Illea to learn of each other's cultures, as well as to hopefully fix some of the bratty child's behaviors.

Personality: Forest is what some would call as dutiful. He knows his place in his family and knows his duty to them and to his country in practically all he does. Thus he is a dedicated, focused young man who is very goal-driven. He is a perfectionist who has some anxiety, and so sometimes completing tasks can make him uncomfortable and angry if they aren't done to his own top standards, and he tries to hide this from his parents.
Despite this dutiful, put-together outward appearance, inside Forest is actually quite insecure and he worries, all the time, that he will disappoint his family or the kingdom. While he knows that some people in the lower castes are struggling with food and shelter, he honestly thinks the system that is in place is still helpful and that it is what it is. He believes that people in higher castes could afford to be more charitable, but he believes everyone's jobs are necessary to make the kingdom run the way it does, and that if people could choose their occupations, nobody would choose what the lower castes do and thus, society would fall apart.
In truth, Forest is nervous about being the king of Illéa one day, because he worried his perfectionism and anxiety will cause a huge mess he won't be able to recover from. He doesn't have a problem being in the spotlight or taking charge, but being a king and knowing his standards are high and that if he failed himself, he will become even more anxious and angry has him on edge.
He has been looking forward to the Selection on one hand since he was small, but on the other it makes him nervous, and he doesn't like the idea that he has to choose someone from 35 women, afraid that he won't find the wife he is looking for. Because in truth, Forest doesn't even know. He knows he wants someone he loves, but he believes that if it comes down to it, he will choose an asset to he kingdom over love.
Thus, he kind of hopes to avoid getting attached to any of the girls, because he really does fear that he may end up loving someone unsuitable for the throne, and he cares too much about the country to let that happen. So he can come across as colder and distant in the Selection.
Despite this however, he will be polite and civil when he meets them and plans to at least give them the benefit of the doubt. Forest is intelligent and enjoys reading and learning, and education has always been a passion of his little more than any physical activity was. He reads for fun and reads also for knowledge of other kingdoms and diplomacy and history. He does, however, enjoy walks in nature and adores the beach and waterfalls. His ideal date would be sitting and having a picnic by a waterfall in a grassy woodland.
Forest can be polite to other royals and dignitaries, and he tries to remind kind to his family and anyone he meets, servants included, but they are servants, and he does respect caste as necessary, once again.
This being said he isn't a violent person, he is just indifferent and firmly believes in the monarchy and hierarchy, and he doesn't go around hurting people for fun and does not take pleasure giving our punishments for people, even though those, too, he believes are needed if someone does something that in his eyes earns them a punishment. He is lawful, and dislikes breaking any sorts of rules. Oddly he never had a huge rebellious stage, and most of the pressure in his life is released in his anger outbursts when he gets overwhelmed or stressed or anxious.
When he does get angry, he gets angry, and his servants know to avoid him until he goes on walks to calm down.
He wishes deep down he had a better relationship with his siblings, but as it is he doesn't, namely because one is illegitimate and Forest can't really handle that thought and is slightly disgusted by it.
Again, he isn't a unkind person, per say, and will stand up for people being beaten down, but at the end of the day he is a ruler follower and rule maker and wants the country to run smoothly and believes the caste system does that.
In a sense than, you can say he is more close minded than some would like him to be, bit maybe if you try really hard you can work on that. He's not a rock, he may be able to be plied a little.
He's lonely...he'd not readily admit it to most people, but he is lonely and wants to be able to speak to someone about his worries and rules and just chat, but that was never a huge option for him, and he wrecked the one friendship he had. He does hope wherever he marries can be a friend, but once again he'd rather marry for kingdom asset first.
He doesn't know how to open up about his interests super well to people because as the crown prince h's used to talking business and diplomacy...not hobbies or getting to know someone, so he's a little worries about that and can probably be socially awkward in that sense if he's speaking to a "normal" person.

Headcanon/History: Forest was born as the first son of the queen and king of Illéa, and was prepped from early on that he'd be running the kingdom one day. He never actually had a super rebellious phase and just kind of accepted what he would be doing in life. Occasionally he desires to travel for something other than diplomacy.
Forest grew up without a super great relationship with his brothers, especially since one is illegitimate and Forest is the person who will demand everyone to follow rules, so his brother's situation never fully sat well with him. He once had a close friend, a young palace servant, who was his one exception to seeing someone as an equal outside of his caste, before he, in his mind, grew up a little and realized that his friendship with him was not appropriate royally so he broke the friendship off. Deep down he wants a friend, and he is rather lonely considering his not great relationship with his brothers, and as far as he knows, Aera is always in her room or away, as he doesn't know about her Northern Rebel connection. If he did know, he'd be furious.
He learned that he had anxiety when he was young that manifested itself in perfectionism when he does his job as a prince and in negotiations and speeches and law creation. He places too much pressure to be perfect on himself.
Since he was little, nature has been a calming factor in his life and he has always loved walks and hiking and sitting in silence and just simply being in nature.

Yeah! So I'm not done with the rebel leader yet, what I have is a WIP in my thread, near the end. And my selected is the first one, she's complete. She was taken in my rebels when she was young because of a really terrible home life and they'd been monitoring her for awhile, and she struck a deal with them to kind of...do whatever they asked if they'd save her sister and mom, including joining the selection as a spy, so that's why she's really there. If Area was affiliated with kids in the Northern Rebels I assume they'd know each other?

As for the leader I guess I have to figure out why she doesn't hate Area as much as the rest of the royals, maybe because Area doesn't get along with her family either she tolerates her?

you can't have a member of the royal family, as they are all claimed. not to mention, the eldest royal of the illea family is 21 and the crown prince at all. he isn't even older than the first princess.

secondly, a prince cannot even be a caste five. they are performers and things of the such, while a prince is a caste one by birthright. even if he were to sneak out and play on the streets, his birthright as a royal will always come precedent to his occupational hobby.

either way, the character isn't exactly acceptable, as there are no open illea royals. I can't accept him. I ask that you properly look at the list to see what is free. you may claim royals of other kingdoms (they are not on the list yet though, so i'm just keeping track of them). for example, I have two foreign princes. cheng li of new asia and alva de monpezat of swensday.

History~ Zara Shreave is the second youngest child. She's always been the one that her siblings trusted. With everything such as secrets, etc. Zara has always been the kind and gentle child. She's never been the type to hurt anyone or anything until recently. Zara went outside of the palace to the garden a few months ago and didn't return. her family thought she ran away but she didn't. She was attacked by rebels and drowned. As the rebels tried throwing her body in the river she awakened and drowned them both. She had unlocked her ability but she didn't understand what was going on so she went off to find answers.

Headcanon/History: Her mother and father had always taught and trained her so when the day came she was ready to become queen. She didn't take much of it serious and wish she had. Instead of listening she always would run off to the library or her horses pen. Those were the only places she could ever get time to herself. The rest of the times she would be surrounded by guests and servants, trying to act as royal as she can but in her parents eye's all she has ever been was a disappointment, and that she would never be good enough.

So, first, her home province wouldn't be 'angeles'
mainly because there are no open spots for the illea royal family.

Personality: Coleton’s personality really changes depending on who he’s with. Sometimes he’s nice, kind, and pretty sweet. He would stand up for his family in a heartbeat unless it was the King, he would never in a billion years stand up for his terrible father. Other times, he can be sarcastic and actually kind of rude. When he’s in this mood of his, he usually loves to make fun of people. But in reality, he has this phrase to hide his real emotions that stand behind a dark mask. Cole can be sensitive or cunning and very ambitious if he wanted but most of the time, he stays with his usual traits. Though he will sometimes show his twin brother, Callan, this side of him as well as his sister Aera sometimes. He’s always liked Aera since he feels they have a lot in common. And for his twin, he could never not like Cal. Cal is kind of like his sunlight at the end of the tunnel. If Cole needed anything, he knows he could always go to Cal, because he’d listen to him. And it’s the same the other way around. His twin can always come to Cole if they ever needed anything.
Behind the ‘mask’ Coleton has incased himself with, he’s breaking apart slowly. Ever since the age of six or seven, he’s been silently distancing himself from his family members. And no one noticed, well at least he thought nobody noticed. Because of how his twin started to distance himself from the family also, Cole decided to act and pretend to be happy because if he said what he really felt like, it would probably break his mother’s heart, or his father would murder him. Well not really murder him but give him hell for the way he felt. So, instead of showing off his feelings, he acts like he’s happy and he hides his emotions with jokes and humor. But no matter what he does, he doesn’t get any better, but maybe that’s because the King won’t leave him alone. Sometimes, it gets so hard to move on, his twin brother is the only person who keeps him from killing himself or disappearing forever. And though Cole has never disappeared off the face of the Earth before, he does usually run away for weeks on time, even if he does get punished harshly for it afterwards.

History: (WIP) Trigger Warning
Coleton was born in early January to both the King and the Queen, making him a pureblood. Life was great all those years ago, he had a loving family and parents who loved him, he even had multiple personal guards and servants (Not that he really wanted them). But this was all before the King started to isolate himself with alcohol in his office. When Cole started to grow up, his father started to pull him into his office late at night but no one knows what had been going on because Cole nor the King ever spoke about it. Well that is after the first time the young prince ran away. Coleton ran away for the first time in early July at the age of nine. He sent his servants and guards on a wild goose chase to find some invader and he quietly slipped out of the palace. Nobody even noticed he was missing until two days later, even ne continued to say that he was just hiding in his room. The Queen and Cole's twin, Cal, finally realized he was missing and sent multiple guards out to find him. It took six days to find the young prince before he was brought home. After that, more guards were stationed outside of his chambers and he was kept under lock and key. Coleton finally started to talk to Cal about what the King was doing to do at night in his office but it took many nights for Cole to actually say it. The King had been taking Cole into his study or office to harm him or abuse him. He'd been burned by candles, cut by knives, and sometimes worse. Now he has ugly words forever scarred into his back and even legs. The sad thing is, before Cole told anybody about this, he thought it was normal. His father had told him he deserved it, and that he was both useless and worthless. But Cole always forgave him because he knew that the King was very drunk when he had these late night 'meetings'.

Good Qualities:
-Very smart (He’s so smart, he’s been able to skip over two years of schooling. And he develops his own smart tech. Which is much better than the average technology of the era)
-Oddly enough, he’s very openminded (He isn’t one to immediately strike down an idea or suggestion. Though after hearing something, he’s more likely to say no then he is likely to say yes)
-Good with Animals (He’s extremely good at calming, training, and tending to animals. It’s like they understand him, and he understands them)

Flaws
-Clingy (Even though he pretty much hates his whole family, when he starts to trust and like someone, he’s surprisingly clingy because he didn’t really have anyone other than his mother and twin brother to lean on when he was young)
-Holds Grudges (He tends to hold grudges for a long time, unless you do something to overpower the grudge)
-Rebellious (It may look like he is following the rules, but in reality, he's not. He waits until no one is looking before striking. Plus, he has run away multiple different times)

Likes
- Creating art or taking pictures. He loves photography and coal sketching. He also loves reading and writing.
- Animals. He's great with animals and he loves them more then people.
- Cooking. He's an amazing chief and baker, he's the one to plan most of the meals in the Selection.

Dislikes
- Most people. He generally hates to speak with people, and he doesn't really like being around them either.
- Anything to do with blood. Even though he's been trained as a medic, he hates the feeling and look of blood.
- His father. For reasons that he doesn't like to speak about, he always hates liquor and drugs and he promised himself never to touch them because he didn't want to become his father.

Abilities/Magical Trigger:Energy Vampire/Power Absorption
Basically, Cole can use (Read: Steal) other people's powers and/or magical ability while he is around them. The person who he stole the ability from, will slowly lose it as Cole gains more and more of that power. If he chooses too, he can always give the ability back or he can keep to himself. The only downfall is that he can only have a certain number of powers before he starts to become a ghost or something similar. Sometimes he doesn’t even mean to steal the abilities, it just happens. Most of the time, Cole won’t touch many people because of this.
