Hi all, here's the post for picking the next book club book.

Same rules as usual:

1) Please don't just list books you're planning to read. Give a sentence or two on why you think we should read a book as a book club.

2) If you made a suggestion before, please re-submit it for this time to be included. I won't be going to past suggestion threads, this is a new round.

3) If someone already listed something you like/what you would suggest, you can "vote " for it by adding support. You can add your own reasoning why you think we should read it.

After that, we'll gather up the books that have the most support and put them into a proper poll for the final selection.

I'll be changing up the response format this time. I'll just have a pre reading thread, and a post-reading thread. Sounds like that'll be better for everyone!

Megan | 244 comments We haven't done non-fiction for a while, so I'll kick it off with suggesting Queen Victoria: Twenty-Four Days That Changed Her Life. I suspect there are a few other Lucy Worsley fans here, and it's been out long enough that it shouldn't be too difficult to track down at the library.

I'll re-submit my suggestion from last time, since enough people seemed interested: The Language of Food: A Linguist Reads the Menu.

Kathy Klinich | 180 comments I'm going to suggest Project Hail Mary, which may have just become my favorite new read of the year (out of 56 books so far.) Partly because I think a lot of people here would like it, partly because I'd like to discuss it here (don't think my IRL book club friends would like it), and partly because I've already finished so can participate in discussions in timely manner (as I've been tardy to our last few discussions because of long library holds.)

Rebecca | 311 comments I'd say we could do the officially Epbot-recommended Stealing from Wizards Volume 1: Pickpocketing, but that might require people spending money, as I don't think it'll be library-accessible.

Haha, I picked up Stealing from Wizards right after that post. I'm almost done and it's really fun. I think it was only 3 bucks or so, on kindle at least.

Megan | 244 comments I want to vote for all of the suggestions! This is going to be a tough one....
