I’m reading White Noise and Paris Trout. I started Kafka on the Shore but the print is so small on my phone, I gave up. I might end up getting the book.

I'm really enjoying this series (Seattle Billionaires). It's well-written and engaging. The author, however, is clearly not American and there are several errors as a result (a baseball field called a "pitch," the bat called the "racquet). The most obvious is that the H of the first book is named Cole Porter. Every time I read it, I start humming show tunes! That small glitch aside, it's a fun romance series!

I recently read the Body Tourist by Dana Shavin and am now reading Last Days of the Dog- Men by Brad Watson. The Body Tourist is an insightful read, the struggles within all of us even if you have never struggled with eating disorders. Brad Watson is a great writer who recently died after we connected on Facebook after realizing we had both had been a writer in residence in Fair Hope.

Hi Debra, I’m sorry we never met since I live in Fairhope and I’m friends with Skip Jones who may have been the head of the Writers in Residence program then. I remember hearing Brad Watson read from Last Days of the Dog Men when it was first published. What a powerful experience!

Hi Lovelace, yes, Skip was President. I met so many people with the book club and reception and connected with many through Facebook—many writers! I was there in October 2019.

Starting this!

I just finished Yellow Wife. It’s a very moving story about a slave mistress of a jailer who eventually marries the jailer after the emancipation. She raised three children by the jailer and helps her lover and her son by him to escape to freedom. Very well researched.
